Fast paced and enjoyable

While I often wished Ivy were quicker on the uptake, I really enjoyed this supernatural cozy mystery. It was fast paced, the world was interesting, and there were enough things just touched upon to leave me hoping for more books set in this community.

Ivy Sylvan thought moving in with her younger brother temporarily would be a good idea after losing her apartment, job and boyfriend… but she should have taken the time to read the association’s contract. Ivy soon learns that Avalon Estates is a paranormal community of witches, werewolves, vampires and sirens just to name a few. This is not the place to live if you are human, but Ivy is human, and living with her clueless brother. Ivy decides to make the best of a bad situation and team up with a witch (who knows her secret) to help solve a murder? I really enjoyed this audiobook and Ellen Quay does an excellent job with the narration. I hope that A.K. Caggiano continues this storyline because I’m looking forward to what comes next at Avalon Estates. I received this audiobook from the author at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A laugh out loud listen

AK Caggiano has done it again. How this author isn't topping charts is beyond me. Her storytelling is clever, funny, and cozy. Anyone that can take something as boring as a gated community and turn it into a fascinating world is well deserving of praise. And her combination with Ellen Quay is always a fantastic marriage. Ellen's soothing voice lends a magical quality which transports listeners into a very magical world. Even my teenage daughter couldn't stop listening. Keep putting them out ladies. I'm here for all the girl power!

Ivy didn’t know moving in with her younger brother would be quite the adventure... starting with the discovery of a dead body. She’s drawn into a whole new supernatural world, only, she’s not supernatural. Will she be able to help discover the true circumstances surrounding the death, or will she be discovered before it’s too late?

This was the first book by A.K. Caggiano that I’ve had the pleasure to experience, and I loved it. Great characters and a clever storyline... I really enjoyed how it all unfolded.

Ellen Quay’s performance was quite enjoyable. She brought the characters to life and portrayed the situations perfectly.

Good suburban fantasy

Don't let the cover fool you, this book is a lot more fun than horror. Although there is a murder mystery, it is not gruesome in anyway but really enjoyable.

Ivy moves in with her brother and pretty soon discovers that they have been mistaken for mystical creatures. I really liked this take on Urban Fantasy.

Excellent read!

Great way to end a book....but I still want more! From the very beginning it had me guessing at who the murder was and then to find out at the end....🤯

I LOVED this. Disregard the horror book cover.

Ivy and her brother have landed on their feet. BUT have they really? This writer really draws you in and you will love the paranormal characters. It is not a horror story but an adventure which I chose only because I have previously loved other books by this author.

Not your usual neighborhood or is it?

Not your usual neighborhood, or is it?
There are so many things I loved about this book, it’s funny, exciting at scary at times, which makes for a great read.
It’s a little bit about learning to be an adult, but also a lot about love and perseverance through hardship and making do with what trials life hands you, and finding strength inside yourself.
What I loved the most though, was how a group of neighbors of different races learned to put their differences behind them when it really mattered and not let their racial biases prevent them from taking action and right what was wrong. All of this are taking place in a supernatural setting which I love too.
I really loved the book and can warmly recommend it to others.
The narrated version are even better than the written version, since the great narrator really brought the book to life, and because it’s the kind of book, where you want to be able to take in all of the little details of the story.
I received the audio version for free, and since I really loved this book I am leaving a voluntary review.

I enjoyed this story

Ivy went to live with her very unsettled brother. The leader of the community a werewolf named Rufus is murdered. The story has all kinds of characters. Vampires & Witches along with many more. There is also a giant tarantula. Ivy is trying to find out who killed Rufus. It is full of humor, magic & friendship. A new favorite author for me and a must read for you.

Entertaining who done it story

Very entertaining and kept me listening. Not heavy on romance, just a mystery with a paranormal twist. The narrator did a good job with the voices and the plot kept me engaged.
