Great Series Starter

This was a great introduction to a new series. The author did a fantastic job on both the story line and the character work. The narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life. I was hooked from beginning to end.

I received a copy of this audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Riveting suspense!

My husband and I listened to this book this afternoon and we really enjoyed it! I'm not sure if this is the first time I have listened or read this author but I do know he is going to be on my TBR list! It will make a lot of you laugh to learn that my husband has a problem that as soon as he sits down, if there are no sports on TV , he goes sound asleep. Today I am amazed to say that he actually only snored for about 5 minutes as he was really interested in my book. He wasn't the only one! I found my emotions going all over the place, right from when you start listening your attention is grabbed! Nathan Grant is a CIA agent who decides he wants more from his life than what he is getting from his job. Nathan has no idea how much his life is going to change from making one choice! This is a new series from Mr. Rosenberg and I can hardly wait to listen to or read more books in this series and any others I find that may have been hiding on my kindle!
I received a free code for this book from the publisher to listen to on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion.

What a Great Surprise!!!

I had this book in my wish list for a while because I had never heard of Kenneth Rosenberg and now I wish I got this book when I first found it. I really liked the story line and the characters, it was so much better than I thought it was going to be. Alex Freeman did a great job narrating the story, his voice is very easy to listen to and I hope when the next book “The Paris Conspiracy” comes out he gets to read that one too. I won’t hesitate to pick up the next book.

A Great Thriller!

This was my first Kenneth Rosenberg's book. This is the first book in the Nathan Grant Thriller series. The world building is interesting, and intriguing. The storyline is fast-paced, and suspenseful. I liked the twists and turns. Alex Freeman did an excellent job with the narration. He has a great voice, pleasant to listen to. I enjoyed it, and I am looking forward for more in the series.

Ten stars, in my view.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I hope someone will turn this book into a movie,
The story is full twists, courage, mysteries, joy, anger, loyalty, betrayal, etc.
Highly recommended.

Decent spycraft in a compelling story

The American is a fast-paced tale of intrigue and betrayal. The spycraft and action are believable and interesting. Minor quibbles: Occasionally the research wasn’t good enough. For example, Nathan would have had a darned hard time cramming five .30-06 shells into the “chamber” of the hunting rifle. The chamber of any firearm holds exactly one round ever. Also, it is impossible to believe that the corridors on the ferry were lined with “neon” lights. Fluorescent perhaps, but not neon. There might have been a little neon in the ferry’s discotheque or its lounges.
The narration is generally good although the characters’ voices are sometimes well differentiated and other times impossible to tell from the narration. He goes from spot-on and interesting to deadpan and bland, sometimes in the same paragraph.

great first effort

it was a good story... not over the top on drama. it was a bit predictable but a solid story nonetheless. I write fiction myself (unpublished) and endings for me are especially difficult. it was a great first effort for this series.

Too Driven By Revenge

Character development and story are above average but the driving force is revenge which is poorly handled. There was a loss of 'nobleness' to Grant's actions. He has stooped to the same level as his adversary who was also looking at taking revenge for the loss of his son. It felt a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
