Publisher's summary

Friends. Foes. Where is the line?

Conor and his allies return from the quest for the Sword of Categym to find the Galel kingdom under siege. The forces of the Empire of Ar-Annator gather on the frontier, and the Marines must fight their way through enemy lines to reach friendly territory.

To make matters worse, an attempt is made on King Uven’s life, grievously wounding him. As traitorous elements among his retainers make a grab for the throne, a deeper, darker, sorcerous plot makes itself felt. The Empire has planned this for a long time. The foul things they’re in league with have been planning longer still.

Can Recon Marines and their allies adapt quickly enough to head off a coup before darkness envelops Cor Legear?

I love this series!!!!!

can't wait for the next one and the one after that!!! I also hope the sword bearers survive and hope that BOTH stay good. I have a feeling the freshest one might let his temper get the best of him. I hope that doesn't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. just like when the kings champion had to cut down his best bud so I'm afraid that is foreshadowing what's to come with our sword bearers.

Excellent

Excellent narration, good story, some minor character deaths, good story with super natural characters, and the death of a headless horseman.

Best One Yet!

This is my favorite installment so far in the Lost Series. Really a lot of character growth, gear shifting, and witnessing the boys become part of the world they’ve found themselves in. Outstanding from start to finish.

Love this series!

Great original and imaginative story with action and adventure! The main character is heroic while still being an integral part of a team. There is character development without excess contemplation or self absorption. The narration was also perfect.

Another great book

These Marines aren't done yet! As a DND player, I thoroughly enjoy how this series progresses and the "quests" they go on!

Continuing to enjoy the series

Still very much enjoying the series, though I cant lie I'm not keen on capping the recording with the AARs.

Another solid book in the series.

If you’ve listened to the previous books then you’re going to read/listen to this one too. Mark Boyett just rocks the narration. He’s perfect for these books.
This book does move the whole story forward and shoves a sword (see what I did there) into a few things from the last book.
So stop reading and start listening. As with the previous books, Mr Nealan doesn’t disappoint.

Great story!

Peter Nealen does a great job upping the ante with book 5. There’s trouble here in the kingdom and it’s up to the Sword Bearers to ferret out the Ar-Annator evil in Cir Legear. This is setting up for an epic battle in book 6. In the end we even get to see the Dullahan clash with Conor and Bailey and a cameo of some blessed beings. Can’t wait for book 6.
