Publisher's summary

The end is near. But will Olivia be able to save her dragons and the home she has come to love? Return to the veil in the epic conclusion to the Dragon Descendants.

An unexpected reunion brings new possibilities to Olivia’s quest of finding the dragon stars. She and the four dragons travel to Iculon, a kingdom as cold and brutal as its heir. Olivia might have lost the star of fire to the witch Tianna, but she isn’t willing to give up. Not by a long shot.

Issik Westgard preferred a life of quiet and solitude until he met Olivia Campbell, the girl who found a way to thaw his frosty heart.

War threatens the Veil and all Olivia holds dear. She might not know what her future holds, but she’s willing to take the witch down with her to save the four dragons she loves. Piece by piece.

Four dragons.

One headstrong heroine.

And a reverse-harem fantasy romance that could change the fate of a dying race.

Thawing Frost will transport fans of Twilight, A Shade of Vampire, and The Curse of the Gods to an enchanted world unlike any other....

Prepare for a unique spin on the lore you love - and an adventure that is as thrilling as it is unexpected.

Recommended for ages 17 and up due to language and sexual content.

Not bad, but not great.

I found myself zoning out a lot during this book. I just couldn't stay interested.

Last book

Well, this book was a bit of a let down. While it was still good, there is so much more that could have closed off storylines and questions that were left unanswered. It felt very rushed. That being said, I was invested in the characters enough from the other books that I finished this one. It is still a fast, easy listen and the characters are great. The world is beautifully built and the romance is probably the hottest in this book. If you liked the other books in the series, you'll probably like this one, but feel a little cheated by the way the end was handled.

Good but one sided

This was a very interesting series although I enjoyed it a lot It would have been a more rounded story if there were narration from the 4 dragons. Everything was from her point of view only making it feel like your missing a part of the story.

The End

Spoilers are mentioned in 2nd paragraph!

At least the main character gained a level of common sense that seems fairly equal to her backstory. It only took until the last book to finally not be completely annoyed at oblivious moments. The ending had potential for so much more. While it was enjoyable, it felt disappointing for all the built up anticipation created throughout the series. It essentially felt rushed

*** SPOILERS ***
I did enjoy the mystery of what would be the ending; since there were no obvious hints at what would happen. BUT....so many unanswered questions & missed opportunities to expand on the story that left this series feeling hollow, now that it's finished. The next paragraph is all the questions I had hoped would be answered....

* More clarity or background on the stars & the Gods.
* Why didn't she tell the dragons that thier mothers were the ones helping her the entire time?
* How did the mothers know all they did to help her? Especially with the grimoire & portal in Isaac's castle.
* Is she immortal, a new type of dragon, a Goddess, or anything other than she gained new powers?
* Will she be able to become pregnant to carry on the dragon species?
* What was the point in discussing other realms & species but never closing that knowledge gap?
* Who are her parents (are they tied into the magical realms)?
* Where did the witch come from? How did she learn of the dragons?
* What the heck kind of deal were the original dragons making with the witch?

I love the series but....

I loved the series as a whole but this last book seemed a little rushed just to be done with it. I was expecting more of an epic battle with the witch after a 3 book build up. I was also a little confused with all the alluding to heirs and Olivia being sick..thought for sure she was pregnant with Isaac's baby dragon since they seemed to have more of a special connection (a part from Jace). I also still feel like Zade got the short end of the love hexagon. PS: Love love love Vanessa Moyen! I choose books based on her as the Narrator.
