Nastasya has lived for hundreds of years, but for some reason, life never seems to get any better. She left her spoiled, rich girl life to find peace at River's Edge, a safe haven for wayward immortals. There, she learned to embrace River's Edge, despite some drama involving the sexy Reyn, who she wants but won't allow herself to have. But just as she's getting comfortable, her family's ties to dark magick force her to leave.
She falls back into her old, hard partying ways, but will her decision lead her into the hands of a dark immortal? Or will it be her first step to embracing the darkness within her?

Cate Tiernan is an excellent author, but the narrator catches the essence of all the characters at River's Edge, especially Nastasya. The book will suck you in by the end of chapter 1. You will be riveted to find out what happens to Nas, Reynolds, and Inecensio. Be sure to read book one first, or you'll be lost. I can't wait until they add book 3!! I read it, but would listen to it all over again!
When Incy comes for Nas at River's Edge, you won't be able to stop listening until you find out what happens.
When Reyn and Nas realize who they really are and their tense relationship from that point.
Once again, Lintz did a great job of delivering a HILARIOUS Nastasya!!! I was laughing out loud multiple times. The writing and narration is a pairing in heaven!! I've already listened to this audiobook twice.
The only problems I have with the story is Nastasya's naive/blind attitude towards herself throughout the book. All these things are going wrong, and she instantly blamed herself (in my opinion, for no reason) and doesn't see that it's obviously not her.........
I understand that this got the story to where it needed to go, but something craftier and more creative would have been done. To have Nastasya be THAT blind, seems like weak writing to me.
In spite of that little tiff, I loved the book. Once again, the characters are great and dynamic. I love that we get to see more sides of River and Reyn.
Great book and the 3rd one was great too, except it suffered from the same tiff I had before.
Revealing, Informative, and at the end very dramatic.
I really liked the build up of the impending collision course between that Natasha and her once best friend Encio. Encio played the part of a caring friend, but we all knew he was leaching of Nas for her awesome power.
I liked the part when Natasha finally tapped into her family magic and broke the hold Encio had on her. I was hoping for Natasha's power to overwhelm him, but understandably so she wasn't skilled enough. Hopefully in the 3 book she will be better
This book made me laugh out loud in certain areas. I really liked it when Natasha pushed Rayne from the balcony in the barn. That was interesting.
Great book. I hop Book 3 Eternally Yours comes out in Audio book as well
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!
I would, but obviously they must read "Immortal Beloved" first.
The right amount of sass for Nastasya.
Yes and I pretty much did!
I really enjoyed seeing both sides of Nastasya's life, the bad and the good. Then back to the bad. Or maybe the misguided and the guided? Either way, we really felt an appreciation for River's Edge once she leaves it. Oh and AUDIBLE: There is a book 3 called Eternally Yours. Please add it to your selections! I need more of that sassy girl Nastasya!
I can't imagine life without earbuds playing an Audible book in my head.
Different; hilarious; Amazing
I don't know if I could compare because the narrator/ writer combo is perfect. The narrator actually makes the book that much more funny and an overall great story.
Nastasya- perfect timing with her self-deprecating humor. And she is amazing with the other characters voices. I LOVE how she does River. But she makes them all sound like different REAL people. You forget you are listening to one person.
Audible PLEASE USE MORE NARRATORS LIKE KELLY LINTZ AND ALLISON MCLEMORE INSTEAD OF JUSTINE EYRE, renee raudman, and the lady that narrates the Kate Daniels series. These women don't even sound young enough to play the parts of 16-18 year olds in the books or they sound like men that smoke a pack a day.
And Justine Eyre is just atrocious!!! SOMEONE TAUGHT HER A RIDICULOUS WAY TO NARRATE USING A FAKE NATURAL VOICE THAT GOES DOWN IN PITCH that makes me cringe especially with the extra gravelly thing she does at the end of her sentences.
Female narrators should have feminine, clear and pleasing voices. I can't even buy the best books if they are narrated by Justine Eyre. Retrain yourself lady.
We are spending good money to listen to the books we love!!!
I just loved it all for bringing something different to immortality.
Yes, please get the 3rd book. I've already read it and its the best book in the series, but not the same with Kelly Lintz narrating it!
This is such a fun, witty strong serious with a very strong message.
Both books in this series have left me longing to see what will happen next and how the characters will evolve.
Rayne is still my favorite character thus far. He's so strong, handsome and willing to stand up for what he wants. He has a dark past, but he is working past all of that and onto a much better future.
Sometimes I find the voice of nastascia (sp) to be quite annoying especially with her over the top sarcastic comments and inability to take anything seriously.
