Publisher's summary

In a world without power, do you have what it takes to start again?

Three months have passed since a disastrous EMP left the nation without power, with only the strongest and most prepared still standing.

Jack is a survivor. After a tragic showdown, he is keen to step back and allow others to take the spotlight, scarred by painful memories of the casualties under his leadership.

But when a terrifying and charismatic new foe arrives on their doorstep, Jack and his friends are lured into a conflict that threatens to be even more devastating than the last. Can Jack step up and protect those he cares about when it matters most?

And in a world of muddy morals, who can be trusted?

Does everyone have to die?

Finally most of the people merged. I appreciate that. Everyone has a Villein. No one is safe. GOT all over the place. I’m really enjoying the story a lot more as it keeps going now. I’m looking forward to the next books.

nothing of practical use

this is just a bunch of fearmongering with no practical information to help. Patriots is a 10x more useful book.

Goes no place slowly!

I have been listening to this series with my son to support his reading. However, this book in the series goes nowhere and it goes there very slowly. cannibals? Really? Not an original thought in the entire book.
