But there are only 22 Reapers in the world, the competition is tough, so I guess it makes sense? If I pass, then I will be sorted according to what kind of Death I'll make if I survive the rigors of the Academy.

But this is my chance, dammit! This is what I've been waiting for all my life! Okay, so I'm not a princess, or a mermaid, or Sailor Moon. But I can be a Grim Reaper one day. I'll take it!

Great Story

Was reluctant at first. Story had some major GAPS but author pulled it together. Love the plot.

Have to get Book 2!

Slow burn, Academy, Bully romance. I was uncertain if I would like this but i ended up Loving this book and didn't want to stop Listening/reading (I also downloaded the book lol) the concept was a little more unique then some of the other academy ones out there right now.

Great!

I randomly got this book free with my subscription and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised!
The writing was really good and the story is definitely interesting! I will be getting book 2!

Surviving year one

I really did enjoy the book. I have bout year two in hope it gets better.
My only issue is the bullying. WHY is not addressed?! The bullies really should be held accountable and it stresses me that it continues and no repercussions....

… okay so far

But a reverse harem disclaimer would have been cool… still listening tho. I like the paranormal aspect of the book and the world building. The bullying seems little too intense and doesn’t really make sense but maybe we’ll find out why she’s been targeted other than being human.

I would like it more without the sexual induindo but it's a good story but could be great.

I am actually going to buy it as soon as I'm done writing this review...hopefully Book 2 will be just as good if not better!!! lol I also really enjoyed listening to the narrator, she fits really well with the characters in the story!!! WOW INTENSE

Wow intense and action packed. How this young girl adapts is a testament to her suffering at the hand of her mean father. This girl has guts and l found this a very satisfying story. l have already purchased book 2 as l am so caught up in her story. Recommended

A Great Story with raw emotions

This was a fantastical story. It felt like the answer to every odd-person-out's escapist dream. To leave the mundane behind, discover you actually are special in some unknown way, to tackle a new world and new life and forget the torrid past.

I gave it four stars because it felt like a converted fanfiction for Soul Eater meets Harry Potter in some respects. I hope the rest of the series grows because there is a lot of great potential here. Also, honestly this could have been a longer book, it feels like a lot of good meat was cut out to make it lean enough for young active minds to consume before they get bored.

I will continue reading the series and I may look at anything else this author may have written.

I enjoyed the narrator's rendition of the characters.

Interesting plot, but

This is a really interesting plot and unique to me. It definitely grabbed my interest from the beginning, but I had some trouble with some things. The heroine's turnaround and calling a couple of characters her boyfriends given everything that was going on made no sense and made her seem desperate and needy. The guys are kind of interchangeable at this point. Hopefully, the next book will be better. The reader did a good job. She really helped the story.
