Story
The Home Distiller’s Workbook tackles the often misunderstood and misrepresented world of moonshine and distillation and reduces them to such simple concepts that even a first time "Shiner" can understand. The HDW will introduce you to the three basic steps in making your own artisan-crafted spirits: brewing, distilling, and ageing. We will be tackling these steps one by one in a way that will have you saying "I just can’t believe it was that easy." And the truth is that it’s even easier then that. If you can follow a recipe to make a cake then with the help of the HDW you could be making anything from Moonshine to Vodka.

Reese Witherspoon’s grandmother Dorothea always said a combination of beauty and strength made Southern women “whiskey in a teacup”. We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside, we’re strong and fiery. Reese’s Southern heritage informs her whole life, and she loves sharing the joys of Southern living with practically everyone she meets. She takes the South wherever she goes with bluegrass, big holiday parties, and plenty of Dorothea’s fried chicken.

Kitty Tait grew up a funny, chatty redhead who made everyone in her family laugh. But around the time she turned 14, Kitty began experiencing anxiety. Slowly, she disconnected from everyone around her and struggled to wake up, get dressed and leave the house. Full of worry, her parents tried everything, from new hobbies like reading and painting to medication and visits to a specialist. Nothing seemed to help. Then, one day, as Kitty stood on a stool watching her dad mix flour, water and salt, she determined Al’s gloopy, sludgy blob of bread looked a whole lot like her brain.

Story
Forget Starbucks - there's an entire world of coffee waiting to be discovered. Around two billion cups of coffee are consumed across the world every day. Second only to crude oil, it’s the world’s largest traded commodity. The origin of coffee is shrouded in legend, and no one knows for sure exactly how it was discovered (although its discovery is largely attributed to a herd of energetic Ethiopian goats in AD 850). It’s little wonder, then, that coffee is so steeped in culture, with a rich history and a complex social and cultural narrative.

Story
The British have a relationship with their food that is unlike that of any other country. Once something that was never discussed in polite company, it is now something with which the nation is obsessed. But are we at last developing a food culture or are we just going through the motions? Eating for England is an entertaining, detailed, and somewhat tongue-in-cheek observation of the British and their food, their cooking, their eating, and how they behave in restaurants.

Publisher's summary
Strawberry Cheesecake Applesauce available at Amazon, contains my gourmet applesauce recipes. These are not ordinary applesauces.
These are Strawberry Cheesecake Applesauce, Chocolate Toffee Applesauce, Eggnog Applesauce, Peppermint Applesauce, Peanut Butter Applesauce, and many more. Strawberry Cheesecake Applesauce takes gourmet applesauce up an even further notch from my other gourmet applesauce flavors.
I get various reactions when I tell people about my Gourmet Applesauces. These range from "You can't do that!", "So big deal", "Yes that sounds good", to "That sounds really good!"
I've made Strawberry Cheesecake Applesauce twice now. The first time it turned out - "That sounds really good! Drool city!" The second time was more like - "Yes that sounds good." It was ok, but nothing to write home about. That's good, because now I can tell you what I did right the first time and what I didn't do so right the second time.
Strawberry Cheesecake Applesauce is not just a collection of recipes. There are also stories, and information on how to choose the correct apples for your sauce. Also included is an Applesauce Flavors possibilities list. A friend of mine confided that he probably wouldn't have listened to it if it had been just recipes. Both he and my neighbor said they listened right through it from beginning to end.
