Publisher's summary

At age 45, Dr. Neil Taylor is an eligible bachelor, living a seemingly satisfied existence as a deacon of his church and director of Kingdom Builder's Academy. But despite outward appearances, Neil harbors secret pains that have caused him to erect a well-constructed wall of defense around his heart.

Everything changes, however, when Shaylynn Ford, a beautiful young mother, strolls through the doors of his office. There's a marked difference in their ages, but the years that separate them are the least of Neil's worries.

Shaylynn is his God-given soul mate. Neil is certain of it. But even with all the prayers in the world, how can he get her to love him when she's already wearing a wedding ring?

Doggone good 👍

To be transparent, I did not think I would get through this book. But I believe the God-centric prism kept me going. I wanted the "then what" to be answered, and it was! If I thought through this book that question that kept me listening. It also reminded me about things that I should also be doing. Thanks for sharing!

Christian Fiction

Thank you for sharing your talent. I enjoyed the mystery, humor, and the truth. Well blended. The reader captured the tones of the story and kept pace with the storyline.

Another great book

I read this after I read the author’s book Greene Pastures and it did not disappoint. I love the characters, they are so real. I like the process of emotional development, the role of faith, the reality of broken lives and how it all comes together in the end. The narrator was excellent. I can’t say enough good things ... keep writing Kendra!

Song of Solomon

I’m so glad I continued to listen to the story of Dr. Taylor and Shay. I was initially tempted to abandon but oh my, how this story came alive and I couldn’t wait to tune back in. Before I even finished I was trying to procure the next book. The narration also contributed greatly to keep it real (real from a Black experience). I’m so excited that I’ve discovered black Christian authors that I can read that are writing stories and great stories of characters that I can relate too. Do yourself a favor, don’t just read a book-read this book of Song of Solomon, Dr. Taylor’s and Shay’s stories.

Just OK. Narrator did a poor job.

After reading some of this authors other works, I was let down, This book does not even make me want to read the second one in the series. Also the narrator was terrible. She miss pronounced words and paused (as if there was a period or comma) in the middle of sentences and thoughts. Almost like she lost her place or something. The reading was very choppy.
