Great story with insight to a real family issue.

I found it a little slow to start but am very happy i stayed with it, it really picked up. It was great to enjoy a story that is happening in the real world and maybe help someone who may be going through something similar.

loved it!

I think this is the best single dad romance I've ever read/listened to. I can see how some of the troubles these guys go through can be true for anyone that has an adopted, teenager, with troubles and trying to blend two families. Written wonderfully and narrated amazinglya

Good Story. Needs better Narrator

At first this book dragged for me. Then when the two father's learned their boys were fighting it became interesting since the Dads were dating.

This story ended up being good with every person learning new coping skills. The ending was so sweet and that's all I'm going to say!

Extremes all around

Ok so it wasn't bad just very extreme behavior for all the characters, trying to be perfect kid for uptight dad, super laid back dad with extremely angry kid. Super sweet happy ending all around. Narration was ok and it was a nice quick listen.

Great story!

I loved this audiobook! This is such a great story of kindness and reaching out to help others. I loved the generosity that Eddie showed Leo even though Leo had been bullying him, and how he wanted his father to be happy. The emotions and reactions of the four main characters seemed realistic and genuine. Leo’s character made me cringe in the beginning. He was so disrespectful of his father, and I felt sorry for Arthur. I liked the way Leo grew throughout the story to face his fears and accept responsibility for his actions, and I loved the way Arthur and Jonas worked together to solve the boys’ problems and to realize that neither one’s parenting style was perfect. The ending almost had me in tears hearing Leo confess his fear, but the love and forgiveness were beautiful.

The narration was great. I really like the narrator's voice, his delivery was perfectly paced, and he gave distinct voices to the various characters.

I was given a copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review.

WHO IS THE ADULT AND WHICH ONE IS THE CHILD?

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

A very interest catching book as to how adults take a stand on child rearing. Are there too lenient or too strict parents or can a medium road be found. I found this story very endearing as Arthur and Jonas take a chance on each other to find out their sons are in a bullying relationship.

The narration is okay for this book. It could be a bit better with different inflections for each individual character. Would make it easier to follow.

Sweet

I think it was a great book. I am not sorry that I listened to it. It was just a little syrupy and sweet for me. All the dialog was prim and proper. I’m more of a down and dirty, nitty gritty bad boy type person. If you are more of a mild romance type person, this is for you...

Engaging and Uplifting Story

The story of Jonas and Arthur is one of an evolving romance amongst two sigle dads amidst the challenges of diametrically opposed styles of parenting, and two kids who couldn't be more different. The author brings it all together in a way that is realistic and does not pander to the base assumptions that we may have about single parents, especially gay single parents. Danny Césedes does a masterful job of contrasting Jonas as the loving but slightly overbearing father and Arthur as the equally caring and well-intentioned but ineffectual dad. I recommend this audiobook highly!

Couldn’t put it down

This is another great read by J.P. Oliver, with well-developed characters. Jonas and Arthur are both single fathers of a teenage boy. When Jonas and Arthur start dating, they find out that Arthur’s son is bulling Jonas son at school. The boys both get into trouble for fighting. Arthur’s son (who is adopted) suffers from anxiety and pushes everyone away so that they cannot abandon him. This story is about growth thru trial and error. How to manage to merge their two families together. The narration was very well done.
