Publisher's summary

Benjamin

I never imagined I'd get this kind of news. Suddenly, I have a nephew that is an orphan. I can't understand what happened and I still half-expect my sister to walk through the door at any moment. He's never leaving my arms again.

Yet here comes Mr. Big Shot, ready to steal the last bit of my sister that I have away from me. I'll do anything to keep him. Even if that means seducing the guy that disappeared over a decade ago. His Hollywood dreams were more important than us small-town yokels. Wasn't that what he said?

Sure, he's a charmer, but he's not getting my nephew.

Micah

When I donated my sperm to let my best friend and her wife have a child of their own, I never expected that I'd end up involved in their son's life. We'd made an agreement long before the procedure took place and, though I'd wanted to be involved afterward, I had adhered to it. He was their son. I knew they'd take care of him.

At least, until something terrible happened. Now I have to face fatherhood with...him.

God, I've loved him since I was old enough to know what love is. He's never had a clue. Now I'm supposed to cope with him so close, still ignoring what I want?

This surprise baby novel is full of heartbreak and wholehearted affection. It contains steamy scenes that should only be heard by adults. Eighteen and older, please.

A Romance Sweet and Real

This is a sweet romance of two friends whose lives took their own paths only to come back around years later. Ben and Micah have to learn how to deal with a toddler, a loss of someone dear to them and themselves. They are quite flawed and have to learn how to be a couple. Life's ups and downs bowl them over along with their own differences. It's sweet to watch them both learn how to deal with it all and come together at the end. The narration was well done. The only complaint I have with it is I thought Ben's voice belonged to an older man than what his age was suppose to be. However, everyone else had a voice perfectly fitted to them. The emotions Randi Johnson infused at proper times really brought the story to life and pulled me in from the beginning. Each narration I've listened to by Randi has gotten better and better and even though I didn't care for the voice he gave Ben, I will most certainly look forward to the next book he narrates! Great writing and an equally great narrator makes this a very enjoyable listening experience.

Amazing love story through loss!

I wasn’t sure of this book when it first started! I ended up falling in love with the characters and their love story! Narration started out rough but I ended up loving the voice except when he tried to talk like a child!
I would recommend this book to every person who loves love stories!

Great MM Romance

Really I don't often read or listen to MM romances but here I was, listening to this one and loving it!! Ben and Micah had quite the twisted story. Poor Ben. I really felt his change of life. I think this story will shock you a bit!

Randi Johnson performed beautifully. Really, taking on two separate male characters can be difficult. But Johnson played them both fantastically.

Hard won romance

This is an entertaining story. There are a few editorial inconsistencies, but they didn't really interfere with the story.

Ben's twin sister, Lindsay, and her wife are killed in an accident and leave behind their toddler, Ross. Ross is biologically Micha's son, as Lindsay was his best friend and they asked him to be the donor for their child.

Micha moved to LA to chase his dream of being an actor, and his career is about to take off. Ben owns a construction company and seems to be in a better position to take care of Ross. However, as time passes, things aren't always what they seem.

It turns out that both our MCs are imperfect, and must compromise in order to co-parent successfully. As the story unfolds, so do the feelings between Ben and Micha. But Ben is stubborn and set in his ways, and Micha is torn between his obligations to his new family and his career.

Overall, this is a back and forth almost love/hate relationship, but in the end we get our HEA.

I have listened to this narrator several times, and I have to say that this is probably the best performance I have heard from him yet. His characters are very well differentiated and the nuances of the story are spot on. I especially enjoyed his choice of voice for Ross. I thought it was great!

Thanks for the ACX

Thank you for the ACX, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. What turned out to be the worst day of Ben's life was the day his Sister and her wife was killed in a car crash. Struggle to coup with this plus taking care of his nephew Ross. With one call from the lawyer had Micah coming back to meet his bio-son. What happens when you put two strong willed people together? Fireworks explode. Can the two co parent Ross? Or will things turn out different? This was such a moving story of the struggles of moving past the pain to better understanding of one's self. I just loved the narrator take on little Ross. Randi Johnson did an amazing job.

Good Story

It was a good story. Ben's twin sister and her wife die leaving her son Ross to be raised by Ben and Micah, Ross's biological father. The relation ship starts out a little rocky, but they over come the issues that arise .

Loved Unscripted Hearts

Unscripted Hearts is a delightful book. The main characters were friends in their youth. Micah moves away to pursue an acting career. B n stays in their hometown with his twin sister. Lindsay gets married and asks Micah to be a sperm donor, so she and her wife can have a child. The wrinkle is that Ben doesn’t know this. When Micah comes back to his hometown and the child, he falls in love with him. Ben is afraid he will lose Ross. Micah and Ben begin to argue. As Micah and Ben get to know each other, they start to get closer. Their mutual love of Ross is a bridge to getting over their misconceptions about each other. I loved all the characters. It was so nice to see them work so hard at learning to trust each other. Get this book and be prepared to love it. I would highly recommend this this book.

Well-told, heartwarming story

Can Micha (the bio dad) and Ben (concerned uncle) co-parent the orphaned son of Ben's sister? And can they do so without clashing or romantic entanglements? The answer is, of course, "yes" to both questions, but this is a fun trip to take with unexpected twists along the way to the HEA. Randi Johnson does a great job of narrating.

Interesting and Different

This was my first Peter Styles's book. Ben and Micah and Ross's story is interesting, and different than what I have read before. Randi Johnson did a good narration of this story.
