Publisher's summary

Are you ready for your next magical adventure?

Okay, so I'm in trouble. Big trouble. I'm broke. Worse, my boyfriend of five years just dumped me.

What do I do? I move in with my three eccentric aunts in their family home, Davenport House. Sounds exciting, only this massive farmhouse likes to eat men.

If I were a regular human, I would have run out screaming like a banshee. As a witch - I do absolutely nothing. Hey, maybe they deserved it?

I'm back in Hollow Cove, the flamboyant paranormal community, where nymphs, werewolves, trolls, shifters, witches, and other paranormals live comfortable lives away from prying human eyes. As I settle into my new life, I decide to accept my aunts' proposal and join the family business - the business of protecting our town and killing anything that would want to harm it. But I've been away from the paranormal world for quite some time, and my magical abilities are a little bit rusty. Heck, they're practically invisible.

Things soon spiral down the crapper when people in our community start dropping like flies. And when demons start showing up in Hollow Cove, it's up to me to take care of them. Permanently.

This is going to be awesome. I just know it.

Loved this book and seeing Tessa grow and begin to realize her powers!

I absolutely can’t wait to see what happens next I love Tessa’s grit and determination. What she lacks in knowledge she definitely makes up fir In tenacity. Looking forward to more in the series n Marcus hmmm interesting and delightful!

Teen/young adult book for sure

I only gave gotten half way by the time I'm writing this. The writing is immature for sure. I researched the author and she is a young adult and children's book author. I don't think I can make it any further. The humor reminds me of teenage or junior high jokes. That's what I get for going for the cool cover art...

Ok

I had a hard time getting into the story with the narrator. I’ve never read this author, so I can judge it it was the story or the read.

Meh, a different narrator would have been more enjoyable

I struggled with the narrator, definitely one of the least exciting to listen to. I think I would have enjoyed the story a bit more

Incredible Witch!

I began reading this book on my Kindle app, ended up finding it on Audible, and decided to follow along with the audio with my kindle version.

Tessa Davenport is such a relatable and down to earth person. Her wicked sense of humor and her fiery attitude go hand in hand. She is someone who I could see becoming best friends with rather instantly!

While reading this book, I felt so captivated by it all. Wherever Tessa was, I felt as if I were standing alongside her every step of the way.

This story was such a fantastic kick off to what I believe is going to be a wonderful series!

If the Golden Girls were witches

This book immediately reminded me of the Golden Girls which is an all time classic. I think the narrator didn’t do the characters justice to reflect the comical moments or the emotions of the characters with an almost monotone narration. I would love to here Charlotte Kane, Vanessa Moyen, Emily Beresford, or someone similar to their style of narration,
Would probably enjoy it more on paper than with current narrator.

Great story but narration feels very forced

I'm currently listening to this book, but felt like I should write a review now and update after I finish. I really enjoy the story line, but the narrator sounds so forced and I feel like I'm having a hard time retaining my focus on the story itself. The narrator may do better in a different narration type, i.e. children's stories? I'll keep listening to finish this one to see what happens with the characters, but wont be purchasing the follow on stories if with the same narrator.
