The Secret is Simple

Wise words to live by contained within the pages of this book. The story was darker than I was expecting.

What a wonderful journey this book takes you on

Well-written, visually descriptive and suspenseful from beginning to end, this work of art by Paulo Coelho is underrated. The journey becomes your own two chapters in and you become tied to the outcome of the story, as much as you become intertwined in its spiritual lessons. If you’re looking for a breathtaking read with quotes & lessons to take with you along for the rest of your life, I highly recommend this book. It provides you with an unexpected look at religion & the liberation of ones self-empowerment.

Interesting story

story was pretty interesting but I HATED the way it was narrated. Maybe it was just me and I might not have liked the sound of the narrator’s voice … also, the main character was so annoying too. But still a good story with important lessons.

Amazing

I want to walk the Milky Way! I just wish I had a guide like Petrus.

The narrator was somewhat monotone.

El Camino

I’ve already walked this walk. It was amazing and how the lessons he taught were the same lessons I learned without a guide. It was 3 years ago this last week it really makes one want to go back. Nice vicarious view. Lovely reader with character division.

I’ll have to listen to this one again

I’ll have to listen to this one again. The plot was not what I had in mind after reading reviews of the book. The impression that I got, was that It was a prequel to The Alchemist. However I didn’t get the same wonder and excitement from The Pilgrimage as I did The Alchemist. Reflecting on it now I can see the similarities and differences
between the two books and how they fall in line with each other, but I’m still undecided about how I feel about this book. You can see the growth in his writing from this book to The Alchemist, which is a cool thing to witness.

love the author but this is one of his weaker books. kept thinking there was more around the corner but at the end it fell flat. lots of concepts and hidden lessons throughout book but overall story is not exciting or intriguing enough.
