For those who Compete

Would you listen to The Art of Mental Training again? Why?

It is an excellent work that possesses lessons that will allow me to review and communicate with others and better develop my practice.

What other book might you compare The Art of Mental Training to and why?

I would compare it to Dan Millman's Way of the Peaceful Warrior. It very much has that vibe where a teacher is able to show the path to another. Another book it would go well with is Nerve by Taylor Clark. I have listened to both of them back to back and they pair well together.

Which character – as performed by D. C. Gonzalez – was your favorite?

The young wrestler who is panicked before his match. I have witnessed this so much in others and myself.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Art of Mental Training?

Life is only a journey and unbeknownst to us our self-talk is the driver. That voice resides within and moves me in ways that are not positive. Listening to what is said - even in the deepest reaches of the psyche is of value. Changing their message is challenging and vital to being the Mental Warrior that resides within. It's only a journey, be at peace.

Any additional comments?

Be positive.

A Game Changer!

I had never heard of DC Gonzales. I bought the book because the title caught my eye and it was a good buy.

I started listening to it on my way to Louisville KY to do some training and I couldn't stop listening by the time my plane landed I had listened to the entire book. Truly a game changer.

I have read many books before, none like this. As I listened I took notes and I recommend you do too. This book changed my complete thought process in merely two and half hours and I will listening to it over and over again.

I would recommend it to anyone.
