Publisher's summary

Through an intriguing story of parents struggling with their troubled children and with their own personal problems, The Anatomy of Peace shows how to get past the preconceived ideas and self-justifying reactions that keep us from seeing the world clearly and dealing with it effectively.

Yusuf al-Falah, an Arab, and Avi Rozen, a Jew, each lost his father at the hands of the other's ethnic cousins. As the story unfolds, we discover how they came together, how they help warring parents and children to come together, and how we too can find our way out of the struggles that weigh us down.

The choice between peace and war lies within us. As one of the characters says, "A solution to the inner war solves the outer war as well." This book offers more than hope - it shows how we can prevent the conflicts that cause so much pain in our lives and in the world.

Practical and Enlightening

This is a great book, written in story form makes it easy to see and find practical application to the principles. I found it personally very revealing, if I apply what I learned I will be a better person.

Enlightening

I liked this book that teaches how to find peace. It is a hopeful way of thinking to believe I control the peace in my life regardless of circumstances around me. It is hopeful to believe that the good habits I strive to incorporate in my own life may also help those around me. The characters in this book were believable and, if not at first, loveable at last. I enjoyed the narration.

Nice approach for teaching.

If you could sum up The Anatomy of Peace in three words, what would they be?

The book is written as a story and via the story intends to teach a method for being at peace with yourself.
Half way through the book I felt I learned nothing and intended to jump to my next learning.
BUT,
Because the book is written as a story I was tempted to keep listening.
And then the story made me cry, twice!
So I completed the book.
I feel I have learned a new concept which I started considering on my day to day interaction.
I can also understand why the concept is more teachable via a story.
And overall I'm happy to have read the book.
However I don't know if I would recommend this to others as I'm not sure many would like this story approach for teaching.

life changing

if only the world would read this book. Then reread it, as I've found myself slip back into old habits. This needs to become a movie. it truly needs to spread like a virus.

AWESOME!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Anatomy of Peace to be better than the print version?

I do not know, because I have only listened to the audio, but it is great. Changed my whole outlook. Made me see people in a whole new light and to understand so many things I did not. I found that when I am at peace my life goes much more smoothly and when I am not, it is very hard to understand where the other person is coming from and what they need. This is and exceptional book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Anatomy of Peace?

When I realized I had a heart at war and how to have a heart at peace.

Have you listened to any of Oliver Wyman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I will.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

How to have a heart at peace and look at people as people and not as objects; and that when I have to make excuses for why I am treating someone badly, well, that is when I need to look at myself and see what is going on with me.

Any additional comments?

I will listen and re-listen to this book over and over again. Thank you,
