I'm such a fan of Alison's work that I felt compelled to write a review. I've listened to all of her materials and this is my favorite. Wherever you are in your relationships, dating or married or maybe given up, Alison offers insights that are profoundly impactful and that just might make you laugh out loud when you see how silly men and women can be. I laugh frequently when I listen to this recording and always get something out of it. I can't recommend it enough.
There is a moment where one of the male participants asks Alison about overpowering chemistry. Their back and forth, especially when he remembers he's being recorded, is delightful and reveals quite a lot about the power of chemistry.
I've taken so much from this particular recording. The two biggest takeaways are a shifted perspective on men and compassion for myself and other women as we struggle to make our relationships work in the quest for love.
I came to this work and wanted to learn from Alison out of a desperation to find and make a romantic relationship work. I returned because this work increases my capacity to be a compassionate contributor to the world and to myself. It's about so much for than finding a boyfriend.
Alison Armstrong really breaks down the different and 'opposite' way that men and women approach dating and makes sense of it all. I learned so much from this program and have already listened to it twice. She knows men and women in a whole different way than most people. Her insights and program were not just insightful, but extremely reassuring that I'm not alone in this journey of dating!
I learned a lot. some I already knew but was told time, and again don't do that or don't say that, you can't put it all out there. Well I think you can and should.
Simple, easy to understand and all the points made complete sense. When the behaviours of men and women were explained it was obvious as to why we are the way we are :)
Fun, entraining, light harder approach yet very insightful.
The review should make it clear this selection is for those wanting only dating information. I got very little out of it as far as ongoing relationship information. The write-up/sample indicated the writing would help those already in a relationship. I did not find that to be the case.
Actually I have been very fond of other titles she has offered. However, all of them have been a little bit thin on actual information and a lot of tease for her seminars.
I Kindled "Keys to the Kingdom" which contained good information, but, the "story line" was odd. I also Kindled "Making Sense of Men" which isn't offered as an audio book. It too contained very good information. I was left wanting more. Thus, the commercial tease for seminars.
I was disappointed on how much time was spent on interacting with the audience rather than giving out usable information.
If you are trying to navigate the dating scene it may be of use. Very, very limited information for those working on their current relationship.
Lots of references to entice the listener to take her live seminars.
What a great way to learn about how men and women operate in the world of relationships. Funny, heart-warming and educational. Many 'Ah-Ha' moments as well as laughter at the recognition of the experience of dating as much more 'universal' than I could have ever imagined.
Heart broken I didn't have these tools 20 yrs ago but eternally grateful that I have them now. It allows one to forgive those in your past but more importantly, it gives you permission to forgive yourself. Alison is a gifted and hilarious speaker and I look forward to listening to more of her recordings as well as reading her books.
I feel enlightened!! Alison speaks honestly and in a comical way, which is informative and so easy to listen to. I will share this seminar without a doubt. I am so glad a friend told me about this. So so happy!!
"Essential for everybody looking for their partner"
Yes, there is so much amazing information that will help me in my work as a couples' therapist, and that will help me give better advice to friends who are looking for love or at the early stages of relationship. Plus it is so humorously delivered that it is great fun to listen to.
Alison Armstrong is like no other person I have come across in the field of understanding opposite sex relationships in terms of her depth of understanding of and compassion and respect for BOTH sexes. I have been working on this stuff for years and she has dramatically transformed for the better my view of men as a woman in the few short months since I discovered her work, and not only that she has helped me transform my understanding of myself as a woman. And it is done with genuine love, deep respect and utter adoration of men and women in their differences.
This is a recorded workshop on dating - there are no characters.
I cannot recommend Alison Armstrong strongly enough to any man or woman, whether looking for a partner or in a relationship or already married - she will change your LIFE!
"So I am normal and right on track"
I have read the Creating Conscious Loving Relationships by the Hendricks and so this audio book I consider as important and helpful as the Hendricks one.
This is a recorded live workshop so you can hear and even the real emotions of people here
Yes! when Alison asks women about things I thought it was only me that was doing them and I even thought I was crazy. Alison asked the ladies in the workshop Am I right ladies? and all at unison said YES. That was an aha moment for me. So I am normal and I feel and think just like any other woman. Wonderful!
I agree with most of what Alison says, except that she says that we can't have a relationship with someone whom we are very attracted to. I want to be very attracted to man, otherwise I don't want a relationship with him. Also sex is important in a relationship and how do you have sex with someone you're not really attracted to? Apart from this point I loved this workshop and all the useful information she provides. Highly recommended!
