Christians often focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limitations, allowing others to take advantage of their kindness. Authors Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend offer Biblically-based ways to take control of your life and set healthy boundaries with parents, spouses, children, friends, coworkers, and even yourself.
Using the case history of a fictional woman named Sherrie, Drs. Cloud and Townsend illustrate her growth from living with virtually no limitations to applying boundaries with others in her life. In the process, they answer many difficult questions, teaching us how to set limits but still be loving, identify our legitimate boundaries, and say no without feeling guilty. Boundaries is an essential guide for Christians who want to increase their assertiveness without sacrificing the ideals of the Scriptures.

This is the book for all of us in this day of multi-tasking and exhaustion. It is a book on how to cope with being a people pleaser and running on empty! I loved it and and its accompanying workbook. It includes biblical references and is a wonderfully written book by two experts! Please read it right away -- your life may depend on it.
Probably a decent book, but someone else needs to read it or the volume needs to be adjusted. I can hardly hear it from my iPod or my buds. It is awful in that respect.
Be able to actually hear the book being read.
Could not even hear him. This book needs to be redone.
I am a young entrepreneur. I am 24 married and love business books. Hopefully all these reads pay off in my business, eh?
This book has great principles, I agree with what they have to say generally. The story format of teaching is hard for me, but studies show it sinks in more that way. I would recommend this book to people that regularly feel obligated by others.
I believe Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend hit home with the sharing of information of patients' stories and examples of how to set boundaries
I needed to hear this book and know the information presented. I think this book is great.
This book was very good. It Makes you learn things about yourself and others. A must have for you and your whole family. Have everyone listen to it. It will change your thinking and your life.
This book did not address how to say no. It reminded me of the stepford wives. What are these authors doctors of- Christianity ? It was like listening to some bloated minister ramble on about a subject he knew nothing about. What a complete was of my time. Thank the heavens that I read the abridged version and didn't waste any more time
