Building on the astonishing success of The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle presents listeners with an honest look at the current state of humanity: He implores us to see and accept that this state, which is based on an erroneous identification with the egoic mind, is one of dangerous insanity.
Tolle tells us there is good news, however. There is an alternative to this potentially dire situation. Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one.
In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are, which is something infinitely greater than anything we currently think we are, and learn to live and breathe freely.

this book is spiritual, very spiritual to a point that i don't think is described in the notes. i listened to the first four hours hoping to grasp to story/message but i could not continue. the reader is just so BORING. listen to the audio sample before you purchase. give this a pass if your looking for something entertaining.
Eckhart is not bringing anything new to this field - he has now written numerous book about something that can be said in one page
Eckhart seems to be stuck in the NOW - this is the same as his first book - nothing other than a dragged out version of his first book.
He has very little emotion and his manner is boring
Same idea as in his first book - I will never read any further books by Echart
Been there, done that - wast of time and money
I have tried on 5 different occasions to listen to this book.... but the gutteral (german?) accent and voice droning on like an obituary makes it just impossible to listen to.
Please, please use professional readers, especially for books over 8 hours long... I know that I will NEVER be able to listen to this reading and actually absorb any of it, which is a shame, and so far has wasted over 16 hours of my time trying to listen to the darned thing. I end up making shopping lists in my head!!!
A New Earth, a book that was promoted by Oparah is slow and without her endorsement would be just another motivational book like many that I have read in the past. The presenter (narrator)seemed to have a difficult time staying motivated. The volume on the recording was significantly lower than any other book that I have downloaded and was difficult to understand. Overall the book and the download were a disappointment.
Even as a "Born Again" christian, I was skeptical at both the christian and non-christian world. After reading and listening to this book, I think I know the meaning of being "Born Again". Now I'm more closer to God and Christ's teaching. Born once again!
I realize that an author might prefer to read his own book, but listening to this author was not pleasant. This is a book to be read. A good narrator would have made this book more enjoyable, but as it is, I couldn't wait until I finished it.
Listening on the way to work each day, I didn't care about the backed up traffic on the turnpike- in fact it was hard to get out of the car once I arrived.
I figured I'd better update my earlier review of this audio book. While I still believe that the audio book should have been read by someone else in order to make it easier to focus on the content, I am getting over that part. 6 hours into the book I am glad that I didn't give up earlier on. Many ideas are so simple, yet so profound and I believe that anyone who is open to look at the world from a different perspective can gain something from reading this.
