Building on the astonishing success of The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle presents listeners with an honest look at the current state of humanity: He implores us to see and accept that this state, which is based on an erroneous identification with the egoic mind, is one of dangerous insanity.
Tolle tells us there is good news, however. There is an alternative to this potentially dire situation. Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one.
In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are, which is something infinitely greater than anything we currently think we are, and learn to live and breathe freely.

Here and now
Anyone who has trouble with his speaking and dealing with the ego has missed the point and you may not be ready for this book. I spend my time being a mother, wife and I also compete at sports for a living, so ego and pain bodies are all around me all the time. If you start to get stumped listen to the woman's story (chapter 6 start part two) over and over. You will get a moment of enlightenment if you are ready. When I start to feel like I am fighting the ego or other peoples I listen to this. Fighting is just adding another layer. You also need to remind yourself that compulsive thinking is an addiction and it's not going to go away instantly, sorry life is not that easy. I would recommend reading the power of now. This book is my favorite, but I wouldn't have been able to absorb it as easily without the power of now.
I wish I would have just bought the book and read it, it is a HORRIBLE recording. A machine or something. So hard to get through!
Seriously? The recording is awful, awful, awful. I cant keep my eyes open and I listen to text books.
Yes, the best complement that I can give a book is that I read over and over. I have read it three times.
That we do not have a life but we are life, a part of the universal life. The book has helped me calm my spirit and let go of ego.
I loved hearing Eckhart Tolle read his message of spirituality that fits into my life so well. I had previously read the book and didn't really feel the spirit until I heard his voice on the audio.
For me the most memorable moment was when I became aware of stillness and how much I needed it.
I haven't listened to any other of Mr Tolle's performances and have now bought his other Audible books.
We must remove ourselves from the pain-body. This, too, will pass.
I will listen to this book again and his others while I am on my early morning walk. What a great way to start off the day!
As a lover of spiritual though leaders and manuscripts this is now one of my staple
I could not imagine this book being read by anyone but Eckhart himself. His voice contributed to the meditative quality of the book.
I am already changed as an outcome and I imagine this change will be unique for each reader
A New Earth is a welcome home for it's reader...I am grateful and thankful for the experience
I liked the audio very much.
It draws our attention to our EGO and therefore opens a new world of possibilities to our lives.
That's the first one.
yes. There are many points made that take time to digest and practice as well as go back and listen again.
his voice is very calm
the pain body
A waist of 9 hour! Leave your ego behind. Be a good person. Don't sweat the small stuff. You have now covered everything in this book in 8 hours and 45 seconds less time.
I really like Tolle's work. I wish someone else's voice was used for the audio book, but the content outweighs the detriments of Tolle's voice.
