Publisher's summary

Ten years have passed since estranged siblings Gene and Violet Masters have spoken to one another, but the news of their parent’s recent passing forces a grim reunion. As Violet uncovers a disturbing secret, she wonders if there might be more to their parent’s death than meets the eye. Contacted by their mother’s spirit beyond the grave, Violet fears the unearthing of truths known only to her and her brother and how they threaten her future.

The Haunting of Gabbingdon Mansion

In the small town of Glenmont, a vacant, forgotten house sits atop an overlooking bluff.

William and Emily Broadmoor are in dire strait when the economic implosion puts a severe dent in their small home renovation business. When all hope seems lost, William is approached by a man with an unrefusable offer—the chance to fix a dilapidated stone mansion in Maine. Initially, the details of the offer seem too good to be true, but with nowhere else to turn, William and Emily decide taking a look can’t hurt.

Couldn't stop listening!

Secrets in the Attic is a boxset in the Riveting Haunted House Mystery series. It has 3 books, The Haunting of Endover House, The Haunting of Gabbingdon Mansion, and The Haunting of Beckett Mansion.

I was pleasantly surprised with The Haunting of Endover House. It captured my attention right away, and I couldn't stop listening. Violet (MC) has issues, and Gene (her brother) is a down-to-earth, easy-going kind of guy. The neighbor Eddie seems to be a busy body; he was kinda creepy at times and made you wonder what his deal was. There's also the contractor, Tyler, who was restoring the home for their parents and becomes friends with Gene. The police commissioner and his grandson, Officer Smith, were terrible people.

Overall, the story had unexpected twists and turns.

The narrator was easy to listen to, and she brought the characters to life. This is book 42 in the series, but it reads well as a standalone. I will be listening to the other books in this set and more books in this series. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal mysteries.

I was given a free copy of these books and have volutarily given my honest review.

Some were better than others

Yep, as always with box sets, some stories are better than others but it's always worth buying because you discover new authors and stories that you really like and then will follow that rabbit into a new series *sigh*
