Publisher's summary

Mother, wife, private investigator... vampire. Six years ago, federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.

Now the world at large thinks Samantha has developed a rare skin disease, a disease which forces her to quit her day job and stay out of the light of the sun. Now working the night shift as a private investigator, Samantha is hired by Kingsley Fulcrum to investigate the murder attempt on his life, a horrific scene captured on TV and seen around the country. But as the case unfolds, Samantha discovers Kingsley isn't exactly what he appears to be; after all, there is a reason why he survived five shots to the head.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

Liked the storyline. The narration was also very good. The characters, however far fetched, seemed real and likable.

never again!

if I never hear the words He said She said or I said again it was like the author didn’t think the reader was smart enough to figure out who said what .I found it very nerve wrecking.

Different twist on vampire theam

A married vampire with kids. Talk about your really screwed up relationships. However she's a good mom, and really tries. The story is really an interesting one and this is just book one of a series. I really did enjoy the story and narration by Dina Pearlman. Not that long of a listen, but it keeps moving. I'm going to try the next book in the series to see if J.R. Rain can keep up the interest and mystery.

BETTER THAN I EXPECTED!

Where does Moon Dance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5

What other book might you compare Moon Dance to and why?

None so far, this is very unique and new to me.

What three words best describe Dina Pearlman’s voice?

Perfect for Series!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was utterly pissed off about what happened to Sam, and all this coming from a male perspective/author amazed me.

Any additional comments?

I stumbled across this book, I don't much like straying from my favorite authors, but I am very glad I did. I wasn't sure about it at first but then couldn't stop reading/listening. I found I HAD to finish the entire series before I went on to any other books. I even bought the Knighthorse books from this author because I love this series so much. That will be my next review! Hope you will give this author a chance, you'll be glad you did.

Some inconsistencies I couldn't get past

Overall an interesting read, but I'm not sure why everyone LOVED it. It was short and mostly light. But I have a real problem with vampires that sweat... That's just not right. Plus she's invisible in mirrors, but shows up on pictures?!? Really? Her character goes from housewife in denial to kick ass with no real transition. There were a lot of things that pulled me out of the book and were more distracting than anything.

I don't know if I'll read further in the series. Maybe in a down time.

Meh...

Admittedly, this is my favorite statement for audiobooks that are not exactly good, yet not laugh out loud horrible either. Been there, done that kinda vampire story.

So worth the credit!

Samantha Moon is a PI with a secret. Her latest client has a secret of his own. 6 years as a vampire has taught her tremendous self control but her family is slipping away. Can she solve the mystery for her client but stay under the radar at the same time?

A wonderful paranormal mystery with a slight romantic interest means this story is towards the top of my ‘must listen list’.

Book 1

Any additional comments?

Interesting start but felt unfinished. Limited character development, decent storyline & plot. Could have developed the love story angle...seemed sudden.
