Wonderful story!

The story was wonderful, but it was the prologue that really did something for me. After the story be tells of his own war experience. Thank you Mark.

When is the second book coming?

I had listened to the complete series of Zombie Fallout, with Michael Talbot as the central character, and was surprised to hear that again he is the central character here also, and with the same remaining characters as the Zombie Fallout. The part that makes this book special, is that mark Tufo has not made this a follow up to the Zombie series, but a whole new storyline. It takes imagination and talent to put something like this together, and the story is gripping. I cannot wait for the second book to be released.

I like it

I like it even though I have not read any of his previous books . it seems to me to get the full story you should read the 8 or 9 zombie fallout first even though the beginning say you don't have to. It will give you a better fill for mike and why he is a half vamp.

It's Mike Talbot....Enough Said!!!!!F#%@n Great!!!

Read the title it's all there. Only problem is that I might run out of new Mike heroics and have to start all over. Wait that's not a problem I am already looking forward to it..Mike Talbot and Joe Ledger, what more does a man need.

Outstanding

For whatever reason I bought this book without actually looking into his other work, it had good reviews and the sample I listened to sounded very intriguing. The narrator reads that you don’t need to listen to the series that technically comes before this book “Zombie Fallout”, which is very true, but I wish I had because this book is excellent and you would have better invite into the characters and the setting.

But, this is just great writing and an equilly great story teller.

Another Thoroughly Enjoyable Talbot Story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, without hesitation. Even if the person had no history with the Mike Talbot universe, this book gives you all you need to fall in the love with the character. Mark Tufo's books are wonderful because he is one of the few writers who can make me laugh, cry, think, and completely lose myself in the story; often times all at once. I suppose that's the point and any of Mark Tufo's books are great for just closing your eyes and immersing yourself into.

What did you like best about this story?

It was great to see and hear Mike back in his element. By that, I mean inadvertently getting himself into trouble, then finding a way out with sometimes insurmountable odds against him. I know it's the point, and perhaps a bit cliché, but Mike Talbot is the best part of any of the stories in his myriad universes.

What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?

I think if I were walking down the street and heard Sean Runnette's voice, I'd probably say, "Talbot?" aloud while looking for him. Since I listen to these stories, the narration is critical for my enjoyment and with all of the books I've listened to, Sean Runnette is in a very small group, for me, who could make reading the phone book interesting. He brings every character to life in a way that's almost like standing there with them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to mention spoilers, but I'll say the ending. It was shocking, I didn't see it coming, and I've thought about it quite a bit since hearing it. I have faith, however, in Mark Tufo that it will have a very good reason behind it at the end.

Any additional comments?

If you've enjoyed anything by Mark Tufo, or the Mike Talbot universe, in the past I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I'd recommend it just as strongly for anyone looking for a place to start with some of Mark's works, but it'll be a lot more enjoyable, I believe, if you have some background on the character. There are some things you'll pick up on, and understand more fully, with some background but it's not absolutely necessary.

Oh, and if you remember the "pickle incident" from early in the Zombie Fallout series, do yourself a favor and check out this book.
