Publisher's summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The Republic has fallen. Sith Lords rule the galaxy. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi has lost everything . . . everything but hope.

Tatooine—a harsh desert world where farmers toil in the heat of two suns while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from the marauding Tusken Raiders. A backwater planet on the edge of civilized space. And an unlikely place to find a Jedi Master in hiding, or an orphaned infant boy on whose tiny shoulders rests the future of a galaxy.

Known to locals only as “Ben,” the bearded and robed offworlder is an enigmatic stranger who keeps to himself, shares nothing of his past, and goes to great pains to remain an outsider. But as tensions escalate between the farmers and a tribe of Sand People led by a ruthless war chief, Ben finds himself drawn into the fight, endangering the very mission that brought him to Tatooine.

Ben—Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, hero of the Clone Wars, traitor to the Empire, and protector of the galaxy’s last hope—can no more turn his back on evil than he can reject his Jedi training. And when blood is unjustly spilled, innocent lives threatened, and a ruthless opponent unmasked, Ben has no choice but to call on the wisdom of the Jedi—and the formidable power of the Force—in his never-ending fight for justice.

For Kenobi Fans

Obi Wan didn’t take the spotlight for me for many years. Now that I’m older, he has become my favorite Jedi. All the attributes that make him great shine forth in this “western” in the sky. The performance was top-notch, and there were some unexpected sound effects that added to the experience. And the story itself was excellent as well. If you love the Force, Kenobi, and a great story, you’ll love this. And in case someone actually reads this….may the Force be with you :)

This book is amazing with or without the SW ties

This is my favorite star wars novel. John Jackson Miller writes a gem with twist and turns that keep your head spinning until the very end. Jonathan Davis is as astounding as ever in this tile. He is honestly undefeated when it comes to Star Wars narration. This book could be for Star wars fans, and could stand alone even without those ties. It has an amazing cast of likable characters and characters you hate. That truly makes a story for me and the plot is very small scale but unmatched for a Star Wars book. This is everything the Kenobi Disney Plus series should've been but wasn't. I urge everyone to read or listen to this book. Star Wars fans and people who just love books/audiobooks alike. It will not disappoint.

Always will be the REAL CANON to me

If you are a fan of SW from the PT to the OT, READ THIS BOOK!

This story is amazing. it's told like a drama, and is a simple story of OWK which is consistent with his character, realistic, and engaging. It develops the entire cast of characters, and on top of that is OWK dealing with his own regrets, trying not to be sucked in to new ones, and sadly seeing again that he can't stop others from experiencing the consequences of their own actions.

This, Wild space, and Master/Apprentice are my favorite OWK books and I highly recommend this one in particular for the narration.

Struggled with the Kenobi show? The EU delivers!

One of my favorite SW audio books, enough to write my first review. As always, the narration and accompanying sfx are excellent and engaging as ever. Become more connected with the communities that live within Tatooine and their struggles, as well as an entirely new perspective on the Tuskens, who play a significant role. Without spoiling, Anakins last visit in Ep 2 left a lasting impact that was not left forgotten. A must listen 👍 👍

Great story telling

Highly recommend the book for Obi Won fans, very good story telling. Immersive. Author does a good job of character development. I really liked seeing Obi Won as a person and not all powerful with emotions and feelings like a regular person. Also liked the lack of all the force stuff and handling problems (generally maybe with a little help) as a regular person.

Fantastic Listen for a Star Wars lover

Loved it. Narration was great as I could have sworn that Ben's voice was Ewan McGregor. Great insight into Kenobi's life after Anakin.

A must read!

What did you love best about Kenobi?

Kenobi was a well paced story from start to finish, with elements of action and drama mixed nicely. We really get to dive deep into Obi-Won's soul, and learn more about his feeling towards Anakin, and the emotions he felt during and after Episode III.

What other book might you compare Kenobi to and why?

Not so much a book, but a classic movie.....The Rifleman.

What about Jonathan Davis’s performance did you like?

Jonathan Davis is the GO TO GUY to narrate Star Wars novels! He captures Obi-Won's voice and character to a tee, and he gives life to the assorted characters in the novel.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending for sure, after Obi-Won resolves the story's issues/conflicts, and grants himself a measure of forgivness for the actions of Episode II/III.
