continuing space opera with decent pace and action. good narrator and good solid story telling. I look forward to the next book.
Freedom's Dawn was a return to boring and a drag like the Rings of Haven was. It was Okay at the beginning, drags and makes you angry in the middle, and wins you over yet again at the end. One of the greatest endings which made the pain and anger completely worth it.
Nv Native American, 1 room school house, hi school of 30, Raised 4-2& 2 ala Brady Bnch, lv audio books, home bound widow. M happy. Thnx AB.
Nathan and the crew are exhausted. They have been chased, ambushed, and stalked by the evil that wants their ship And their home, Earth. The double dealing and spy game is in it's zenith and now two more worlds enter the fray. New characters are jumping in, each with his own agenda, and Captain Nathan needs to find a solution that unites everyone so they can all win! In spite of all this, Ryk Brown uses his clever words to remind us of our common goal: Freedom. Then, talented Jeffery Kafer translates it so the listener remembers that this is a goal that is a continuous battle to keep! But back on the Spacefront, the crew of the Aurora find a way and everyone in the new alliance wins! (Especially the listener...)
It made me want to skip to the end to see what happened
not a surprise but still had me interested
someone that can do different voices for each character
typical sci-fi in that the law of physics do not apply but so far still fun
The main characters stupidity and predictable actions
Give the characters more brains and common sense
The reader was very enjoyable
The story is fine. However Audible should refund to anyone who bought chapter 2 &4 ( I cant call them books) Charge for one but not both While I am enjoying the story I will NEVER start another Ryk Bron series or stand alone book because of the pricing
It a space sage. Not as good as theLost fFeet but I am enjoying it
Combine books 1&2 and 3&4
I hope breaking story's in to 7 hour chapters and selling as books is not a trend!
An understanding of 'on ship' details might have helped me better buy into this. Like - lock the freaking doors & save a life. Bulkhead compartmentalization would isolate intruders. It's the little things.
This book series seems to get better every time I read it can't wait for the next one dreading the final book and the end of the saga love love love it!!!!!!!!!
That title might sound a bit critical but I enjoyed the story. It actually had me guessing how things were going to work out. I think the writer did a great job on keeping the story moving along without it feeling cliche or forced.
I got the feeling that he wrote a short story then decided to make it into a book by simply adding detail. The result is a story that takes too long to tell given what transpires.
The scenes that contained endless amounts of detail explaining situations could have been shortened.
"A proper ending"
The previous releases all felt as they stopped at some arbitrary point in order to allow them to make four releases out of a single long novel. This one ends at an appropriate story point with many story lines moved along and everything ready for the next instalment.
Overall the crew of the Auroa are coping well though the Captain makes odd choices and is pretty much a passive agent for the latter part of the story and makes room for others including a villain to take control of the story.
The story and narration are of the same quality as the previous releases and if you enjoyed them you will enjoy this one.
Yes. This book was my least favourite out of the series.. nearly stopped me from getting the rest. It was too much they Keystone kops farce for me
Probably not much. I do like Ryks work and generally manage the necessary suspension of disbelief. This one however i just lost it 20% in.. by 50% i Hated it... it took real work to listen to the rest
Vlads my fav chara.. a ruski is much better eng than the too cliched scot.. and without the equally cliched doom doom attitude of the typical tv ruski... eg Ivonova from Babylon 5
I wish I could see how this book could be improved but as it was going from.. oh my God can we afford to let anyone on board to hey yes who cares who's arriving just blew my suspension of disbelief. especially irritating compared to the rest of the series
