Admiral John "Black Jack" Geary may have saved the Alliance only to destroy it in this thrilling and eagerly awaited continuation of the New York Times best-selling series.
Geary believed in the Alliance. Even when he uncovered overwhelming evidence that the highest echelons of the government and fleet command were involved in secret programs and prison camps, he believed it was worth saving. He believed his duty was to see that justice was served even though some factions feared that revealing the truth would cause the Alliance to crumble.
But after narrowly surviving two assassination attempts when he brings evidence of the misdeeds to the capital star system, Geary realizes that some have decided the easiest way to make the Alliance's problems go away is to get rid of him. Two arcs/eleven books later I would be losing interest but Campbell has continually kept the story interesting and fresh. With a down to earth main character and a compelling plot that thickens with every turn. I can't wait to read the next installment and hear what happens next!

Best yet.
I've read all of the series by John Hemry (yes even the comics) and I love this story. Many authors present the world only from the perspective they want you to see. John Hemry presents his view, and then tacks on a few more, especially from opposite perspectives to try and present why doing the right thing for the right reasons matters. Ends do not justify means and power must be balanced with responsibility and accountability.

What a surprise!
I had no idea another book in this series was coming out. It was a pleasure to be back in the Gearyverse, Christian Rummel does another wonderful job with the narration.
If you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy this one. Mr. Campbell seamlessly, fits you right back into the continuation of the storyline.

Fantastic! Well Worth The Wait!
I have been waiting for this book since the final Genesis Fleet book came out. I am so glad that this story shows every indication of time well spent! The new characters are very different from anyone who has come before and the old characters are consistent even as they grow. NINJA LIVES! Kinda.

Meets Expectations, Ready for Next One
Not the best book in the series but definitely sets the series up for good follow-on books. I feel like this was a necessary book to establish the next storyline for several more books. Looking forward to it, Jack!

It's been a long wait, but Black Jack is back...
I always thought Black Jack needed a final series, the Lost Fleet encompasses a vast Galaxy with rich characters and tense situations, all the favourites are back and hopefully his series will answer all the questions left open in Beyond the Frontier...
I enjoyed this first book in the Outlands series within the Lost Fleet and hopefully we don't have to wait too long for book 2
