Publisher's summary

A new ship . . .

A new crew . . .

A new crisis . . .

A friend at risk . . .

The Confederated Systems Alliance has spread to dozens of systems, creating the first true interstellar alliance dedicated to bringing peace and prosperity to all inhabited worlds. Unfortunately, some see this new alliance as a threat to their own seats of power, and would do anything to stop it.

After a well deserved rest, Captain Nathan Scott is once again called into action. This time, it is not the fate of the galaxy that is on his shoulders, but the life of one of his dearest friends.

But not all is as it appears.

A new ship

A new aurora a bad start. Nathan needs to quit doing these commissioning parties, it’s gonna get old.

I love this story

Started these on recommendation from Steve Gibson and I’m glad I did. I plan to reread them once the Saga ends too. Long love Ryk Browns imagination!

Short but exciting

*No spoiler review*
Pros: This short intro to the 3rd saga was essential and I sorta understand why it’s only 8 hours.
As always the little details are well thought out and substantive. Brown does his homework when explaining things in detail, this book doesn’t stray from that.

I do wish I had more to continue with after such a long break between saga 2 and 3 but the side stories he wrote eased that pain a little.
I do wish for faster paces since I love this series so much, but, I do empathize with the idea of needing a break and taking time to write a great book instead of rushing mediocrity.

Great addition to the series! Keep up the stellar work both of you

Great New Storyline

I'm excited to see where this new storyline goes. I'm glad to see the characters continued in another series. Get to writing Ryk!

A good new start but…

I really hope they are not going to be thousands of years into the future with some weird mission to get back or correct the timeline or whatever.

I just want to see them flush out their time, secure the growing unified governing body and meet/save new people.

This was a good book, don’t get all crazy with trying to recreate the past.

Fun

I have been a fan of Ryk Brown since the first book of his initial series. I like to read books from local authors. I got in the habit of checking the local author section of my neighborhood bookstore. There I found the first book by Ryk Brown.
I thought the story was all over at the end of the frontier series. This is book one of a new series, but it is the same story just a year or so later than the original one. Oh boy, the story continues. I will have some more exciting adventures with my favorite characters.
I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. The book is eight hours. Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job narrating the book. He has been the narrator from the beginning of the first series.

Too short.

The brevity of these is not okay. Needs more depth and complexity to stay consistent with the previous novels. Cost per hour is not consistent.

A continuation of awesomeness

I have been captivated by this story for years and I’m loving that Jeffrey Kafer keeps coming back to read each segment. Ryk Brown creates an amazing world and I couldn’t ask for more, this story just gets better with each installment!
