"Still Good, but narration got weaker"

The final book of the Chronicles of Dragon Lance. The Final battles of Good and Evil. It will end here, for good or ill, for at least most of the companions of our D&D tale. The War of the Lance completes. Magic, sneaking, spying, War, interpersonal conflicts, conflicts of morality and of the soul all in this book. It is still a great story even after all these years.

The narration however seemed to weaken. Characters and statements that should have been said with strength almost seem whiny. The narration itself is decent, but it feels as if the narrator did not take the time to consider the situation and the emotions behind the situation and instead just read the book. The characters even didn't have as much distinction between them as they did in the first and second books.

    "Still a good read."

I read this years ago. I was worried it wouldn't stand the test of time. It did, I was very happy to relive the travels of the mostly fearless adventures.

"Great Story - Do not like the Narrator"
Would you listen to Dragons of Spring Dawning again? Why?

Loved these stories in my 20's, when they first released in book. I would listen again, with a different Narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I found his "acting" unbelievable and I did not care for the voices, I did not enjoy his performance at all.I simply could not listen to more than an hour of this Narrator, for me, he does not draw me in and "hook" me, he actually put me to sleep.

    "Diappointing 3rd book"
What did you like best about Dragons of Spring Dawning? What did you like least?

I liked the fact that at first, the story begin to pick up speed again.

I didn't like the fact that after what seemed to be an upswing in the storyline, the writer once again bores us to death with the seedy intrigues between Tanis and Kitara!

The hero characters became so idiotic at some points, you are left to wonder if they really aren't a bigger threat to the world than the pathetic villains.

What was most disappointing about Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman ’s story?

The injection of feminism, Taoism, and absurd theories of good & evil, which if allowed to influence others will lead one to believe that being evil is just as valid a contribution to the "balance" of the world order as being good! ABSURD nonsense!

Have you listened to any of Paul Boehmer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

His female voicings are eerily husky, reminescent of some drag queen trying to sound femine! Creepy...

Could you see Dragons of Spring Dawning being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, don't waste the money. You'd need "carrot top" to play Tanis, and a host of other clowns to represent the general comedic dysfunction in these "heroes".

    Any additional comments?

What a waste of good money.
