Publisher's summary

The first book of Day by Day Armageddon took us deep into the mind of a military officer and survivor as he made a New Year's resolution to start keeping a journal. The man kept his resolution and brought to us the fall of humanity, day by day. We see the man transition from the life that you and I live to the prospect of fighting for his very survival against the overwhelming hordes of the dead. We see him bleed, we see him make mistakes, we witness him evolve. The highly anticipated sequel to the best-selling underground cult classic, Day by Day Armageddon, begins where the first novel left off.

BEGIN INTERCEPT

Armies of undead have risen up across the U.S. and around the globe; there is no safe haven from the diseased corpses hungering for human flesh. But in the heat of a Texas wasteland, a small band of survivors attempt to counter the millions closing in around them.

INTERCEPT COMPLETED

Day by day, the handwritten journal entries of one man caught in a worldwide cataclysm capture the desperation--and the will to survive--as he joins forces with a handful of refugees to battle soulless enemies both human and inhuman from inside an abandoned strategic missile facility. But in the world of the undead, is mere survival enough?

A good sequel

Would you listen to Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile again? Why?

Yes, I feel I missed some, just a feeling but maybe that was the fear I felt

Have you listened to any of Jay Snyder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

For this series I am pleased with the voice, I feel like I am hearing a first hand reading of the journal.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A bit of the first and the second book here but the nuclear explosions of the cities after events and the people there living and undead was very well told and with emotion

Any additional comments?

An enjoyable part two

Good book

If you could sum up Beyond Exile in three words, what would they be?

Scary as s***!

What did you like best about this story?

It was gritty. It captured a zombie apocalypse in a realistic setting.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when they were trying to start that car with that horde of zombies bearing down on them.

Any additional comments?

Well worth the download. I highly recommend it.

An Excellent Follow-Up

Bourne's follow-up is just as excellent as his first novel. Along with Max Brooks' World War Z, Bourne's books have been the pinnacle of zombie novels so far. Much of the zombie fiction that is currently available is suffering from being cliche and having characters that are pretty flat. Bourne's story continues to be inventive and having me at the edge of my seat. His characters are three dimensional and fully realized. Check out my review of his first novel because it also applies to this one. The end of this second book has me very intrigued to see where Bourne's third book will go. China perhaps?

Couldn't leave the car!

Incredible story that is so believable you'll start "prepping" for the Zombie Apocalypse! Bourne's day by day story combined with Snyder's reading performance made this one of my favorites (and I've listened to MANY hours of books). If you like the genre (heck, even if you don't!) pick this one up. No doubt you'll sit in your car just a few more minutes listening to this one!

A great sequel

Like the first in the series, this book was outstanding. The main characters struggle for survival continues. Each setting, scenario, and event contains enough exciting and new information to keep the plot thrilling. I hope this author writes more, as the style with which the book was written is highly entertaining.

Top Ten Book

This is one of the best zombie books I have ever "read" and the execution was also quite solid. One of the few audiobooks I was truly sad to see end.

Great Continued Story - Mediocre Narration

This story line continues to be One Of the best Post Apocalyptic books ever. I just finished "The Remaining" series, And can't help but notice how much better that series Is read. Intonation and a real connection with the story escapes this Narration almost until the very end when you can audibly tell he actually had read, enjoyed and connected With the book compared to the first 3/4 of the story. It really detracts from narration and connection you build with it.
