Publisher's summary

Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her wolf pack, but the petite redhead refuses to let an Alpha male interfere in her life. Furious and humiliated after her mate refused to claim her, she runs off to hide among the humans. Why wait around for an Alpha male to love her when he’d obviously prefer to ignore her?

Nick Axton can barely control his urges for Shaya, but the Alpha can never claim her — not if he truly cares for her. His degenerative brain condition will eventually destroy him, and he’s afraid of turning his mate into his caretaker. Yet when Shaya runs away, Nick can’t let her go. He pursues her, vowing to finally claim his rightful mate. And despite Shaya’s spirited and passionate resistance, Nick’s fiery determination just might be the ultimate aphrodisiac.

Funny and sexy

If only I could do what Shiya did. I laughed so hard and it made the steamy so much more sexy.

Phoenix Pack. Best series ever!

The characters are great. You make them so real. The narration is excellent! I will definitely look for more books with this narrator.

Excellent read!

No mistake here. Ms. Wright again showed us how to write a great book. As her prebious ones, this one has the great H/h, strong and interesting characters, surprising plot, heap of emotions and the great sex :-) All in all - 5 star book for sure :-)

Good Series -

Half-human, half-shifter Shaya Critchley may seem like a submissive in her wolf pack but a wimp she is not. When her mate, Nick Axton whom she knew the minute laid eyes on one another who happened to be an ALPHA wolf refused to claim her, yet couldn’t stop interfering in her life, she knew she had to get away. Shaya took off hiding and posing as a human in a town full of extremists groups who were totally anti-shifters. Shaya never expected Nick Axton to show up looking for her, but lo and behold here he was. Even though he had health reasons for not claiming her, he just couldn’t let her think he didn’t care for her and he can’t bear the thought of never seeing her again. While extremists, rogue wolves, and other packs start sniffing him out - Nick knows a battle is brewing and he certainly can’t leave Shaya on her own, no matter how capable she seem to feel that no one would suspect her as a shifter.

I was totally entranced with this series from from the beginning, especially the introduction of Trey and Taryn - one very wise-cracking and hilarious heroine staring in Book One - FERAL SINS. And even as things seemed to get more and more sexy and erotic well I just chalked it up to using fillers to make up page counts. But actually, after awhile, the angst of - she protests too much - and Nick trying to make Shaya realize how important she truly was to him just tipped the scale for me into a ‘give him a break moment’ where I wanted to shake some sense into her.

Bottom line: I really enjoy the concept of shifters in my paranormal world, but I rather like more substance and story than so much blow-by-blow descriptions of the act. The one redeeming quality I truly appreciated was Nick and Shaya blowing open and stopping the extremists of torturing the unsuspecting shifters who were forced into unspeakable horrors. Not bad - just not great.

A typical Suzanne Wright

✅ a sensual story with a sliver of danger
✅ a dominant male
✅ a sassy female character, strong enough to make the alpha fall completely and utterly in love.

Highly entertaining!

Better than book 2, not better than book 1

I really liked this one... Although...book 1 was hands down the best of the series so far...

This was way way better than book 2... I felt so sorry for Nick... and I am so glad Shyia didn't take a whole book to get over the fact that Nick didn't claim her... I am glad she left him, he totally deserved it, but she didn't take 3yrs to get over it... She eventually understood why Nick did what he did... It was a great addition to the Phoenix Pack Series...

I so want Dominic to have a book... I hope his true mate is Nick's sister..

Narration was great... I always enjoy listening to Jill Redfield...

Good Credit or Sale..

Hott! Hott! Hott!

This purchase contained two stories, both equally entertaining. The narration sent this story above and beyond. Im definately coming back to this book a few more times. Worth the credit.

Nick & Shaya

I enjoyed this 3rd installment of the Phoenix Pack series a lot. Shaya made Nick work for it after his “rejection” and I loved how all in and dedicated Nick was. His change of heart was very sudden though and felt somewhat out of character (given how he acted in the previous books). It made more sense once things were revealed, but I would have preferred if there had been a bit more build up. It’s clear where things are headed and there’s the usual OW/OM drama and push and pull, but it was entertaining and an easy read (though a bit too long). The narration by Jill Redfield was wonderful as always and she brings the story to life so well. I’m happy Nick and Shaya finally got their HEA.
