As a half-demon master of the dark arts, Eve Levine isn't what anyone would call "angelic." That's exactly why the Fates chose her for the job. She's their secret weapon against the forces of evil. However, after five years, Eve is tired of being the designated rebel of the angel corps, expected to break the rules, then being penalized for it. When the leaderless djinn stage an uprising, Eve sees the perfect chance to get herself fired. As she plunges deeper into the demon world, though, she realizes she's in danger of losing a lot more than her job.

I am an avid listener. I listen between 75-100 hours per month on my iPhone: 60% fiction to 40% non-fiction.
This short story fits in very nicely with the entire series. The story centers around one of the prime players -- Eve Levine. Armstrong adds to her depth while creating the instant tension needed in a short story. The action is secondary to what you learn about Eve in particular; there is no romance. If you are reading the series, this is a definite must listen. I do not recommend you listen if you have not read the entire series; which or I should say witch is well worth your while.
Those of us who know and love Eve will certainly enjoy this novella, but it's not worth the price for this very short story.
Excellent novella; been in love with the character idea of Eve since "Haunted". The Fates sure can be bitches and challenging, but Eve reciprocates, excelling in diplomacy at times. Well done Kelley Armstrong!
I was so excited to listen to this, as I am in love with The Otherworld series. But the narrator sounds NOTHING like I would picture Eve? She sounds like an older woman, almost grandmotherly and it just ruined it for me!!! If this was easier to get ahold of I would have read it. 5 stars for the story , 3 for the awful narrator!
I didn't pay attention to the running length. Seemed like the start of a good story - then couldn't believe it when it just ended.
Not worth a credit. Should have just been a portion of an anthology.
Love this series and Angelic falls right into place with the wit and style of Otherwold. It's a good listen BUT (yep there's a but) it's way to short. I'm hoping that this is More a teaser ('bring us up to speed with Eve) before the next FULL book comes out..
"Please re-record using another person!"
I'm sure this was and is meant to be a fabulous book. I love these books but the audible version has driven me nuts. I cannot get past the first 5 minutes as the lady reading the books is so dire you completely miss the story! Eve is a witch with angel wings after a deal with the fates for her daughter. She is lively and animated but I cannot match the character of Eve to the woman reading. Please please please get this re-recorded so I can download and enjoy!
"Kelley Armstrong really is a genius!"
Angelic is one of Kelley's novella's set in the otherworld. This was originally printed as a limited edition, so I bought the audio to satisfy my needs before I could get a paperback copy.
This is from the viewpoint of Eve Levine, Savannah's mother. Really found this to be a great tale in itself. Kelley can't help but write a charchter with flaws, and Eve has many and is trying to make up for them. I loved everything about this book and have no hesitation recommending this, but you really want to read/listen to the other's in the series to make the most of this audiobook.
