Publisher's summary

Originally self-published to enormous acclaim and demand, Sacred Pampering Principles is a beautifully written guide with hundreds of easy and innovative ways for on-the-go women to pamper their bodies and nurture their spirits.

With her holistic approach to filling your life with comfort, balance, and peace, Debrena Jackson Gandy debunks society's myth that doing something for yourself is decadent and selfish. In fact, she says, the joy we gain from treating ourselves--whether to a luxuriant bath or to a meditative hour alone--is transferred to the people in our lives. When we emerge rejuvenated, others benefit from a patient mother, a fulfilled wife, an effective coworker, a solidly grounded friend.

Written for African-American women, but accessible to women of all races, Sacred Pampering Principles demonstrates not only pampering ideas, but also explains why pampering, for less time and money than one might imagine, is vital to a balanced life.

Inspiring

I have had this book for a number of years but time kept getting away from me so I finally invested in the audio book and this will be a book I will come back to over and over again. This book is wonderful for women who are at a point in their lives where they want to feel a lot lighter and connected to themselves! Debrena does a wonderful job of relating to the reader as the sister girl next door, giving helpful advice to enrich our lives. This is a life long practice and I am looking forward to continuing to see the process unfold in my life of pampering me!

I loved every minute of this book. It has most definitely changed my life. I am truly inspired to take better care of myself, and to teach my daughter and those around me how to take better care of themselves.

Life Changing

As a Black woman, as a daughter, as sister, teenage mom, US Army Combat Veteran, I want to say that this book saved my life, changed my life. I believe that this book should be a part of a Black family curriculum.
