Publisher's summary

How do we hear from God and discern his will when it’s time to make big decisions? Terry Looper shares a four-step process for doing just that - a process he has learned and refined over 30 years as a Christian entrepreneur and founder of a multibillion-dollar company.

At just 36 years old, Terry Looper was a successful Christian businessman who thought he had it all - until managing all he had led to a devastating burnout. Wealthy beyond his wildest dreams but miserable beyond belief, Terry experienced a radical transformation when he discovered how to align himself with God’s will in the years following his crash and burn.

Sacred Pace is a four-step process that helps Christians in all walks of life learn how to:

  • Slow down their decision-making under the guidance of the Holy Spirit
  • Sift through their surface desires and sinful patterns in order to receive clear, peace-filled answers from the Lord
  • Gain the confident assurance that God’s answers are his way of fulfilling the true desires he has placed in their hearts
  • Grow closer to the one who loves them most and knows them best

This audiobook is not another example of name-it-and-claim-it materialism in disguise. Instead, it walks listeners through the sometimes-painful process of “dying to self” in their decisions, both big and small, so that they desire God’s will more than their own.

Excellent work

Must read/listen. This is a wonderfully written personal account of how the author came to the end of himself and the steps he took in seeking the Lord Jesus in restoring his life to the Glory of God.

Game Changer

I loved this book. it revolutionized how I looked at my business and I think it may have even changed my husband's heart on how to move forward on day-to-day decisions as well as large decisions. I took my time going through it going back over the chapters multiple times to make sure that I had a handle on each subject matter before moving forward. the idea of dying to self and becoming neutral in my opinions when asking God what direction to move is going to change my life. any self-employed or small business owner should read this

Practical and well told

This book is full of real life examples demonstrating how the 4 principles played out it Terry’s life and others over the last several decades. Is very practical, easy to listen to, and biblical.

Third dimension Decision Making

I find Terry's work very practical and comprehensive. Partnering with God in decisions is Wisdom and it is time agnostic.

The reluctant "self" help, is my kind of help,

What I mean by the title is that it took him almost his whole career to put this advice into a book. Where there are self-help books that are written by authors whose whole writing career is centered on putting out self-help books, Terry wrote this after someone suggested he teach his God-centered decision-making process, not as a means to keep hammering out Terry Looper self-help books (though I'd like to hear about how he sells).
This, to me, leads to his credibility. He lived a whole life, from high-powered, hyper career and success-oriented young man, to highly successful, balanced, and joy-filled, God-centered man. The fact too, that this is in contrast to other Christian, self-help books and ministries that tell you how to name it and claim it, or that you must sow (to them preferably) in order to receive (not that we shouldn't sow, but it isn't just a wealth-building system). Terry simply explains how he leans on God for decision making, allowing God to answer in His timing, in His wisdom, even when it made Terry's trusted friends and partners uncomfortable.
I recommend to anyone in any position (CEO, entrepreneur, sales, manager, or home-maker) is bothered by the fast-paced, high pressure, material/success focused, world that we live in. To me it shows that God loves to show how his wisdom and plans work best, even when truly waiting and praying faithfully tests our (and our world's) patience.

Life Changing

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for peace.
The way this was written and narrated helped break down Terry‘s method of getting on pace with God. We all need to do this if we expect to have peace and success in our life.
