She takes my breath away; she is so beautifully damaged. Yes, I had broken her, ravished her life, and destroyed her happiness. I brought her to the ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me. Broken. Hopeless. Reckless in her agony.
She is a mirror of my own tortured soul. But what I took away I can give back, in ways she cannot even begin to imagine. She is everything right in all my wrongs. She loves me. She needs me. She has no idea I'm the one who wrecked her life.
Contains mature themes.

I absolutely love Vandal, a story so beautiful and harsh, a contradiction just as its hero is. Vandal is a damaged, tortured man who believes that he unworthy and not redeemable. The beginning of the story is so heartbreaking and emotional.
“The mix of her presence and her void is completely overwhelming, and I fall to my knees in the middle of the room. The pain in my chest is like nothing I’ve ever felt before, as if my heart is being ripped from my body and sliced into tiny pieces. I want her back so bad. I want to just feel her tiny hand in mine and tuck her into bed”
When Vandal sees the young widow grieving at the cemetery, he is so drawn to her. He knows he should stay away from Tabitha, but the attraction is so strong and he wants to somehow find a way to help her heal.
“I can’t take my eyes off of her. She absolutely takes my breath away. She’s so beautifully damaged. She’s wrecked. I can see it in her lifeless eyes. And now I want to fix her in the only way I know how”
This book deals with the death of a child, BDSM, fetishes, cutting, addictions and many harsh realities of the human condition, but underlining it all is the feeling that hope can survive and grow in even the darkest corner (and I believe that Sterling is the perfect example of that.)
“you became the moon and stars in my dark nights. Your love is like a fire that burns into my soul. I can't lose you, too.”
For a re-read I listened to the audiobook of Vandal. The narrators, Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell do an amazing job bringing to life this beautiful story and these amazing characters. Joe let us hear the tenderness that Vandal tries to keep hidden under his rough, alpha side. Maxine's perfect performance as Tabitha cemented her place in my heart.
This book is very different from Storm's story. As each person's story is told, you learn more about the band, the brothers, and the cousins. Vandal has had a hard life with little love shown to him. He deals with his pain using S & M, bondage type of sex to create control in his life. He looses the person he loves the most, and because of such a terrible circumstance, he finds the love he needs to continue on with life. Hard to read for me because this ain't my kinda relationship, but it works for this story. Worth your time.
I look forward to listening to new books every day!
I read Storm and Lukas and was very reluctant to listen to Vandal because of all the dark reviews. I'm glad I finally listened to Vandal, however I'm not a fan of BDSM so I won't read it again. Many heartfelt moments. Worth the credit? yes master. lol
Deep, dark and sad but it will be ok. The narrator did a great job! The book was well written but did have some very disturbing situations . Some of the scenes are HOT but some are a little rough and may be tough to handle for some readers. I don't like spoilers so I will just say I enjoyed the book, felt good at the end but my heart was broken throughout the book. Tore at my heart!!! Good job Carian for bringing to life some really tough situations with words that make you feel the emotions and turmoil of the characters.
My name is Irene and I'm a lifelong bookaholic. A few years ago, I started adding audiobooks and I'm so happy I joined Audible in 2015 :-))
Definitely recommending this series, based on books 1&2. Not much rock/music emphasis, but well written characterizations. Narration decent. I purchased kindle ebook with audio- well worth the price!
This one had lots of ups and downs in the emotions department. A good book can bring out emotions and this one did. I do like the light BDSM that's in here too. Although this one was on the light side of spicy it was nicely done about a 4 or 5/10 on the hot meter!
Narration was well done on both narrators and don't have any complaints. They voiced the characters great and did not distract me from the book. If you like dark and twisty than mayhap this one will be worth the credit to you.... however this is NOT a bodice ripper!!!
This book is amazing, Carbon Cole is a genius. These stories steal your heart and you can't help but fall in love with these characters, I can't wait to finish the series.
This book was not bad according to other reviewers . This was very well rounded. it had depth, love, sadness, joy and so many other emotions. I'm so glad I purchased this book. I loved it. Get it, u wouldn't regret it
If you think Storm is good then this is even better if thats possible very unexpected story with a relationship built on lies that develops so well and the unexpected twist well who would have guessed .
I can't recommend this listen enough Joe and Maxine perform there narration so well and I am looking forward to Lucas
5 big stars all the way
