Publisher's summary

Who says a vamp can't have it all?

Darcy Newhart thought it was a stroke of genius—the first-ever reality TV show where mortals vie with vampires for the title of The Sexiest Man on Earth. As the show's director, Darcy's career would be on track again. And she can finally have a life apart from the vampire harem. Okay, so she's still technically dead, but two out of three's not bad. Now she just has to make sure that a mortal doesn't win. If only she wasn't so distracted by a super-sexy and live contestant named Austin....

But Darcy doesn't know the worst of it. Austin Erickson is actually a vampire slayer! And he's got his eye on the show's leggy blond director. Only problem is, he's never wanted any woman—living or dead—as badly. But if he wins her heart, will he lose his soul? And if it means an eternity of hot, passionate loving with Darcy, does that really matter anyway?

Funny entertaining love the story!

Love the story, enjoyed the reality show of a Heron finding their new master.
I like the reader from the first book better. It would be nice have the same characters have the same voice and all the books.

Very fun!

I listened to the story while doing the spring cleaning. It was lots of fun and helped to keep my mind occupied. the characters are all different in their own ways so there is always someone to relate with. I liked the Independence the woman learn and enjoyed the book as a whole.

Love all 13 books!

I love this whole book series, there is 13 books. One book out of the 13 is a little slow but still good. I am hoping she will write another one to the series. I find that she is very witty, clever, romance, and the story intertwines throughout all 13 book. I love the Highlanders and their accents. I did not care for Shannon's voice that well in this book.
But once again I will say I love love love these books they are so funny and a great story line.

Not your usual vampire love story

I really enjoyed this book because it's not your usual vampire love story. Great narration.

Average

I really like Kerrelyn Sparks work but Darcy needs to just get over it, she's a vampire and has been for four years. I think bemoaning that fact every few lines in the book was redundant. Overall, I really liked the book.

Fun book

I enjoyed the book and the characters. The author actually kept me guessing for a little while. However I was not a fan of the narrater. Her voice is fine, but like someone else said, her character voices aren't great. She does not do accents very well. I much preferred the narrater from the previous book, who did a much better Scottish accent.

Sometimes it's all about the narrator...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I've read this book previously, but I honestly liked it more after listening to it. It's light and humorous and the antagonist isn't some big bad.

What does Abby Craden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's very clear that Ms. Sparks has very little control over how her books are narrated, but this narrator is just one of the best. I can understand the pseudo-monotone might bother some, but her dialogue is right on the money.

Wonderful book

When I first read this book I loved the concept! Abby Craden does great with the voices except for Gregori’s. If she knew the series she would know he doesn’t have an accent. Otherwise job well done. Great continuation of the world.

Really enjoyed this book!

Would you consider the audio edition of Vamps and the City to be better than the print version?

I think so. The narrator was a little distracting with some of the voices she created for certain characters. For instance the character Shanna sounds exactly like Marilyn Monroe with her "breathy" voice, it wasn't bad just a little distracting from the story.
