Publisher's summary

A woman's tender touch....

He was born to a clan of warriors of supernatural strength, but Gavrael McIllioch abandoned his name and his Highland castle, determined to escape the dark fate of his ancestors. Hiding his identity from the relentless rival clan that hunted him, he called himself Grimm to protect the people he cared for, vowing never to acknowledge his love for ravishing Jillian St. Clair.

Yet even from afar he watched over her, and when her father sent an urgent summons, "Come for Jillian," he raced to her side - into a competition to win her hand in marriage.

A warrior's steely heart....

Why had he run from her so many years before? And why return now to see her offered as a prize in her father's manipulative game? Furious, Jillian vowed never to wed. But Grimm was the man she loved, the one who urged her to marry another. He tried to pretend indifference as she tempted him, but he could not deny the fierce desires that compelled him to abduct her from the altar. She was the only woman who could tame the beast that raged within him - even as deadly enemies plotted to destroy them both.

Great Scot! Don't miss our other titles in the Highlander series.

Love, love, love the Highlander series.

With that said this may be my least favorite book, but it is still great. I recommend the rest of the highlander series and her fever series. My favorite is Kiss of the Highlander and Spell of the Highlander.

Classic Highland romance and series

How many times have I read or listened to this series? Maybe 10?
This series is probably the best of the Highland warriors genre you’ll find out there. Yes, there’s some overlap of characters, but the best part is this series also sets the stage for Moning’s Fever series of 11 books set in modern day.
Grim Roderick gets drawn back to Jillian, the love of his life since he was 16. He’s hidden a major secret of his inheritance until he needs to protect her from his clan’s long time foes.
I absolutely love Phil Gigante’s voice. It helps that he does a great job of character differentiation.

Absolutely loved this story.

I absolutely loved this story. My only wish is that Kirsten Potter read the female roles. Along with Phil Gigante's rich baritone brogue, the performance would be pure perfection. Side note: I have a new appreciation for kilts. ;)

Very good!

Great story. It was hard to picture Grimm from the first novel as the same character in this one, but great story anyway.

Enjoying this series!

Any additional comments?

Narration - Phil Gigante - pretty good
Phil does a good job, just doesn't do females that well. He's a guy trying to do a girls voice - a little too falsetto.

I enjoyed the book. It's kind of light hearted with a little danger and angst thrown in.
