Publisher's summary

Three nights of danger...

When her brother was arrested for murder, the ton shut its doors to Marietta Winters. No one would help her save him from the gallows - no one but Gabriel Noble. In exchange for taking the case, Gabriel requests three favors from the desperate young beauty, and Marietta has no other choice but to make a deal with the sinfully handsome devil.

Three nights of pleasure...

Searching for clues in the rough underbelly of London, Marietta must masquerade as a shamelessly wanton wench - much to Gabriel's delight. But Marietta swears to herself that her passionate moans are just for show. She could never fall in love with such a maddening, arrogant, seductive stranger...could she?

Three nights of sin...

Night after night, she satisfies his wicked cravings. But soon Gabriel wants more from Marietta than just three nights of sin - and even a sordid secret in his past won't prevent him from trying to possess her forever.

Loved this one!

The story begins as a family of disgraced members of the Ton, a sister and two brothers are dealt a blow. The youngest brother ends up in prison for a notorious serial crime of murder -- crimes he did not commit. But how to prove it?

The older brother is a spendthrift and a drunkard, so he's no help, which leaves it to the sister to find a way to free her younger brother. She is given a name of someone who might be willing to help her, a mysterious Mr. Noble, but when she meets him she's told she can either pay 10,000 pounds for his services, or agree to do three favors in return, no questions asked, at a future date. Well, she has no money, so favors it is.

There is a very good (and sexy) romance in this book, as well as an equally good mystery to be solved. It's a detailed and well written plot with many twists and turns to keep you guessing. The way that Mr. Noble calls in his many favors from those in interesting positions in the government to solve the mystery was clever. He would be an interesting character in a series on PBS, so I was very disappointed to learn this was not a series. Too bad!

The narration was very good. Also, the resolution of the mystery was very well done. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun reading an historical romance, and actually, this one belongs in it's own category. P. B. Ryan writes some very good victorian mysteries with romance available on Kindle. "Still Life With Murder (Nell Sweeney Mystery Series, Book 1)," is the first of her series. Highly recommended if you like this sort of thing.

I looked for other books by this author but was disappointed to learn that this is considered her best book. I would have loved to read more by her in this vein.

No Titles Required

Our hero is not a duke or an earl.
Gabriel is a butler's son that ran away from home at an early age. What he became was a man with money who helps people....for a price. We never know exactly what his limits are in what he will do for clients--which is interesting. He charges some people, but others will owe him 3 favors.
Gabriel is approached by the sister of an innocent man that's about to be convicted for a series of murders. The story, and romance, takes off from there. With lot's of twists (some leading back to Gabriel's past) and a heroine that is involved in the investigation *and* believable, this is an excellent book.

The narration was well done with one exception: There was more than one scene in which a character is supposed to whisper, and didn't. It seems like a small thing, but because of that error, there was no intensity where there should have been. Some scenes could have been much more emotional and memorable. This won't stop me from enjoying this story a second time. Overall, it was very well done.

Enjoyable listen

Three Nights of Sin is an enjoyable book. It is a little bit out of my "comfort zone" (I'm a sci-fi and thriller fan). I wanted to try something different, and I didn't regret it. It was nice to listen to the detailed descriptions of the personal interactions. I could picture small nuances in gestures and meta-communication, which is often not the case in an action-packed thriller. The sex scenes are not over-written, I found them quite right.

Good romantic mystery

Narrator, Angèle Masters did well, though her male voices were much of the same. Hard to know who was speaking at times.
Rally liked the story, kept me captivated. Wanted to know who done it and why. Was quite surprise on how John's (Gabriel's friend) part in it all, ended. Would of liked to know what happened to the "Bitch" that started it all.

Great Story... Narrator a bit to short and brash.

This was a great story. It was full of romance and mystery. Both the hero, Noble, and the Heroine, Marietta, were very strong characters, not sniveling, wimpy or whiney. Great chemistry between the two. Has Hot and steamy sex, which is always a plus too. Lots and lots of dialogue. I love dialogue in books rather than just reading/listening to the "thoughts/feelings". The writing was excellent. The narrator made the characters seem a bit short and brash in their dialogue. I had to imagine it as if I was reading to rid the effect of the short brashness. I would highly recommend this book, more so to read rather than listen. Not the worst narrator I have listened to, but not the best by far.

Much better than the title and cover art suggest!

Would you listen to Three Nights of Sin again? Why?

The book had a good story line and the characters were well developed. Their plights were believable and the characters weren't annoying or naive or silly. Really enjoyed the mystery and the love story.
