Hits all my wishes for an interesting story

I love medieval historical romances and have recently discovered time travel in this genre to my delight. This hit all my wishes. It has a strong heroine a hot strong alpha male and an interesting story brought to life by great narration. I can’t wait to begin book two.

Good story

I liked the story and the narration was pretty good, except that the Scottish voices all sounded a little like Papa Smurf... not sure what was off with them, but they were definitely off.

the narrator was one of the best I've heard and the book got me looking for more stories about fae princes and princesses.

Wonderful..

What did you love best about Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband?

Everything Melissa writes I love!!

What other book might you compare Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband to and why?

Any other Mayhue book.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Wiley – was your favorite?

Cate.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both

Any additional comments?

I first bought this book in September 2011 and even though I loved it I never reviewed it..Just to lazy, I guess. So, I decided to read it again and review it this time. Matter of fact, I've read all Ms. Mayhue's book, one right after the other and never reviewed any of them but I intend to read them all again and take care of that. That's how much I love the book.
I love the magic in them and I loved Connor and Cate. Loved Rosalyn and just didn't like Richard at all. He had some really strange ideas.
This book had some mild sex and I liked that. I don't read books without sex (they're just to boring for me.) I would recommend this book to all time travel fans.

Surprisingly Good

I don't typically read romance novels. However, sometimes you just need a change of pace. Years ago I had read a series of romance time travel novels by Karen Marie Moning that were very good. After that series, I had a difficult time finding another author I enjoyed. Most of theses type books feature hot headed men and stupid women. The only conflict in the story is because the main characters are to dumb to communicate. So when a review of this book compared it to the Karen Marie Moning books I so enjoyed, I decided to give time travel romance one last try. I am so glad I did! Yes the male lead is domineering, but he is probably realistic of 13 century men. The best was the female lead. Only occasionally did she act foolish and helpless and never to the point I was ready to quit reading, as has been the case with other similar books. While this book did not contain the same laugh out loud dialog of Moning's series, it was fun, interesting and enjoyable. I definitely read the next book in the series.

Time travel stories are nearly always fun.

I appreciate when the author of a time travel book makes an effort to explain how the time travel happens and sets at least some rules for the traveler and the catalyst.
Ms. Mayhue does that in this story. Okay, so there are no interesting scientific explanations for the occurrence, just fairy magic, but at least she laid some ground rules and followed them.

This is light, fun reading. Highlanders, kilts, time travel, clan strife, a Scottish king; all the standard post Outlander fare. There is one twist, however, that I liked: the intermingling of the heroine's present-day family with the yesteryear characters. Don't want to ruin the story for you by further detail.

Good narrator.

I recommend for lovers of time travel romance.

Great Book

This is the first time that I have listened to this author, and I must say the book was fantastic. The narrator was excellent. I can't wait for another book by her and another listen from the narrator.

Fairy Tale for Adult--Fun!

I couldn't put this down. Great narrater for such a fun adventure into the world of the Fae and time travel. Love is the answer--true love wins all. Reading Book 2 now--can't wait for book 3 and hopefully many more. This is a story all will love and remember.

Pleasantly Surprised!

I didn't know what to expect with this author but I was pleasantly surprised by this story. This isn't your average Highlander adventure......its refreshing, honest, and unpredictable. The love between Caitlyn and Connor happens gradually and isn't forced. The story seemed more "normal" (even with the time travel theme) than others in the same genre. This book is more of a fantasy type romance rather than historical which is fine with me because I enjoy both.

The narrator did a good job. Her men's voices tend to be a little whiny but I got used to it and after a while I didn't notice much.

If you enjoy fantasy/time travel romances I think you will enjoy this book. I am looking forward to other books in this series.
