    "Underwhelmed"

I really enjoyed book 1 and could not put it down. I also really liked book 3. So I thought this one would be right up my alley. Not so much, I hated the main character, she was selfish and self absorbed and I found it hard to believe that anyone would find the character attractive. After Jeannette's horrible behavior in book 1, the author was going to have a hard time redeeming her. Tracy Anne Warren tried but I think she came up short. Still, the book is well written and entertaining at times. I'm not saying pass, especially since the other books in the series are so good, but don't start with this one and don't let this one put you off book 3.

    "a wife trapped"
What did you like about this audiobook?

This was an enjoyable listen. As in The Husband Trap and The Wedding Trap T.A.W. delivered. This was the second of the trilogy but I listened to this one last... I wish I had listened in order but it was ok out of order too. I felt it ended rather quickly with just a "the end" and left me wanting more, at least an epilogue... I guess that bodes well for book in a whole... wanting more is a good thing. Especially if it hadn't been out of order!

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I stumbled into Regency Era London romances by accident and was immediately addicted. I enjoy the whole feel of it. I suppose the whole class system of existence should be offensive but that attitude still exists we just use different words. And what gal doesn't want to imagine the world full of fancy balls and extravagance anyway?

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

I found the dashing Darragh to be one of her best characters yet altho in retrospect I think the leading man in each book to be more charismatic then the females. Somehow the men just stand out to me.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Bianca Amato did a fabulous job with the narration, as usual. Not only are her individual male vs female voices clear and distinct but her cadence and emotional expressions are flawless as well. But what really strikes me is how 'comfortable' she is to listen to, something in the tone or timbre of her voice is very appealing.

Do you have any additional comments?

In my opinion its worth the credit providing you too enjoy the 19th century London romances...

    "best of all three"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it to a friend. I enjoyed it a lot. The story was a little different from the other 2. It kept the characters in what I thought was their original personalities.

What other book might you compare The Wife Trap to and why?

I guess it compares some what with the first book in the Wallflower series just because of the fact the characters want to be loved but are afraid to give all the have because of fear of rejection and their love being unrequited love.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When they were in the most compromising situation. I laughed so hard. Their reactions were priceless. Can't say more or I'll ruin it for the other readers.

    Any additional comments?

I left this book for last because Jeannette was my least favorite character in book one. I could not stand her and her uppity attitude. She was such a snob. But after finishing it I wish I would have listened to them in order. The third book took a little of the fun and shock out of this last book. But all in all the series is pretty good.

"Ladies, Prepare to fall in love with and Earl!"

Warning: You will not be able to put this book down. I found myself listening to it much too late into the night. I know some of the other reviewers were disappointed by this book, but I can honestly say I wasn't. If you started with book 1, you're going to be surprised to see that Lady Jeannette does, in fact, have a heart. I thought the author did a good job of explaining her behavior in the previous novel. But, the person you're really rooting for in this book is Darragh O’Brien. He has just the right mix of bad boy attitude and good guy behavior. I also like that this book doesn't end with the oft-employed "they got married and lived happily ever after" ending. Instead, she chose to show some of the problems they had after the marriage.

Like any good historical romance novel, Tracy Ann Warren's writing style brought you back in time without beating you over the head with mundane, useless descriptions of attire and buildings. Instead, she gives you just enough to be able to envision the world she describes. And Bianca Amato continues to do an excellent job as narrator.

When the leading lady pushes the man in to the pond. lol made me laugh so hard.

What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is great the only problem i have is tht she makes the men sound old and kinda grumpy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    I did.

    Any additional comments?

This is a long book but if it was shorter I would think you would miss a lot of the fun it has to offer.

Would you listen to The Wife Trap again? Why?

I rarely re-read books. There are too many books out there, I read and listen to books. I have no time to re- read

I did, I think she did a great job

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    "One saving grace"
What did you like best about The Wife Trap? What did you like least?

I enjoyed the humor on occassion. I thought the main female character so shallow that her awakening to a more compassionate nature unrealistic.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

This story was fairly predictable. As I mentioned the humor was fun and lively in several areas.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Many expectations are placed on the heads of the narrators now. I expect a pleasent voice, that doesn't put me to sleep, and one that can distinquish each character with accents and variation as needed. This was accomplished.

Could you see The Wife Trap being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

The tamming of the shrew comes to mind. But I think those actors are long gone.

    Any additional comments?

Pleasent innefectual read. It did not appeal for depth but made me laugh. Sometimes that is enough.

    "Jeanette Learns Her Lesson"
What did you love best about The Wife Trap?

I loved the way Jeanette and Darragh sparred with each other in their game of wills.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wife Trap?

When Jeanette drew a less than flattering picture of Darragh.

What about Bianca Amato’s performance did you like?

The way she could differentiate each of the voices. I love her English accent.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Does she or doesn't she? Only her husband knows for sure.
