I was rooting for Dara O'Brien!

If you haven't read/ listened to The Husband Trap, I strongly suggest you do! Not only is it a great book, it will also get you familiar with the characters in this book, which is 2 of the series. Now having said that, on to the review!

Jeanette Rose is a self centered, scheming, haughty, manipulative snob who is on her way to Ireland to escape a scandal she has just caused, and to lick her wounds. On the way there she meets Darra O'Brien and automatically dismisses him as a commoner, beneath her attention, despite the attraction they both feel. Darra falls for her despite her OBVIOUS faults, and when they are caught in a compromising position he agrees to marry her.... only he fails to mention, he's Earl.

They live in a small cottage and Jeanette is forced to cook and live in conditions that are, again, beneath her station. She and Darra grow closer, until she discovers he lied.

I absolutely love this story, even though I'm not a fan of Jeanette, I found myself hoping she changed and made a good wife for Darra. This book is most definitely a page turner, and one again the narration is superb. Usually books on series tend to kinda die down after the first book, but not this series. It's just as exciting as the first. I'm off to book 3.

"What a Man"

If you could sum up The Wife Trap in three words, what would they be?

Money isn't everything

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wife Trap?

Darragh and Jeannette's caught in their compromising situation' when Darragh discovered that Jeannette was not a virgin. How Darragh send Jeannette's maid to visit her family and surprised Jeannette at the castle. I also loved it when Jeannette fell in the mud!

Which character – as performed by Bianca Amato – was your favorite?

Earl Darragh, what an Earl! I loved him. I think I loved him more than Adrian and Kit.
A man with so much but yet so humble and caring.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have read the other 2 books and although I loved O'Brien a lot in this book, I think my choice order is: Husband Trap, Marriage Trap, Wife Trap. I did laugh quite a bit when O'Brien teaches Jeannette his varous lessons and it did have an impact on her because she was not as annoying in Marriage Trap, she was a little more human. I commented to myself that Bianca's character narration was starting to run-together because she made Toddy sound like Darragh. I wished the ending of this book could have been a little steamier. I wanted Jeannette to get pregnant in this book but because I read Marriage Trap already I knew she had children. I loved the whole story of O'Brien deceiving her about his status, she deserved a little come-down. Overall, I enjoyed the book, great work ladies!!

Any additional comments?

Now that I have read all 3 books, my favorite characters order are: Violet, Darragh, Adrian, Kit, Liza and Jeannette. I love the author and narrator's work. I look forward to reading more of their works.

Wonderful Delightful Story

I've never expected to laugh out loud of the story, but yet I am enjoying every moment of it. Jeannete's character is so exasperating at first but the author expertly weave the story and so I can see her as human with human feeling.

The narrator Bianca Amato is so brilliant. Beyond Wonderful and superb is just simple way to describe her work. The way she narrate Jeannette and Darryl' characters very interesting, I wonder how she manage alternating british and Irish drawl so beautifully and bring the story to life. I am glad venturing on the story, I am looking forward another of Bianca and Tracy's work.

SPOILED BRAT!

I didn't want to read this book because Jeanette was a spoiled rotten little girl. She does not deserve someone so good. But I had to because it's part of a series and I am OCD in doing things in order. I don't agree with some of the reviewers saying Darragh abused her by making her work, she deserved to learn how to be grateful. I am hoping the third book is better.

Just ok

My least favorite from the series. The heroine was just not likeable. There was some much needed character development but still found it difficult to root for the heroine. Great narration by Bianca Amato.

coulda been betta

this is the 2nd twin story - loved the irish earl - but she was such a little bratty girl that her development into a more mature women was slow in coming. over all a good listen but some of the antics were far fetched and not completely credible. the narrator - fantastic.

A fun entertaining read

I laughed outright several times during my reading of this book. It was well narrated and written, although I didn’t care for the sexuality and descriptions thereof. That being said, I skipped those parts and found myself enjoying this book from beginning to end.

Ignore Negative Reviews!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Wife Trap to be better than the print version?

Audio - Bianca is an excellent narrator.

What other book might you compare The Wife Trap to and why?

The Husband Trap of course and then several of Jane Austen books. I like stories with somewhat relatable characters...in spirit and time and place.

What about Bianca Amato’s performance did you like?

Her ability to capture emotions - it drew me into this story as well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Gosh...that's a tough question. Be Careful What You Wish For

Any additional comments?

I started not to listen based on comments negative comments and started to go to Book 3...so glad I read Book 2 based on one positive review. Now I'm headed to Book 3

Taming of the Shrew

This is a great adaptation of the classic Shakespeare play Taming of the Shrew. It has humor, sensitivity, and romance…all the best ingredients for a romance. The narrator does a good job with the Irish lilt, her voice is soothing and easy to listen to. I’ve listened to the whole series and will again and again.

Spoiled Jeannette

I do not feel bad for Jeannette what so ever. She is so God awfully spoiled that its hard to like or feel for the character. Earl Darragh O'Brien is way too good for her and I honestly would have been urghing him to find someone else to be his wife. So Jeannette is shipped off to Ireland after her deception was revealed in Husband Trap out of shame from her family. Jeannette is staying with much older cousins in the Irish countryside, which is completely borning for her royal highness who is used to being the belle of the ball in London society. Jeannette is constantly looking her nose down on people and throwing her title around like Ireland should be so lucky to have her presence of being a true English born lady. Jeannette is attracted to an architect who is rebuilding a wing of her cousin's house. They have few run in with stolen kisses and what not but he could never be a suitable husband for Jeannette because of his lack of title. One night while Jeannette is hosting a ball at her cousins house she goes too far with O'Brien and were caught red handed by all of her male relatives, That was a funny scene. Jeannette being publicly compromised she has no choice but to wed Darragh O'Brien, oh boy does she throw a fit being force to marry an untitled man, but the jokes on her cause he turns out to be an Earl of Mullholand which makes Jeannette a Countess (not like she deserves it). O'Brien teaches Jeannette a lesson by letting her believe that she is married to a poor man and they live in a small cottage where Jeannette is forced to cook, clean and sew for several months.

The book have a good story line I just can't feel for Jeannette, I just want to constantly smack her. I did like Husband Trap and Wedding Trap better because they had more of a likeable main character. But you must tread through this book to get through the next. Like I said it is not a bad book or story line, you are just going to hate the main character.
