Fantastic
It troubles me that I might have easily passed this title by in the multitude of romantic regency novels, as it is so lovely. The characters are understandable and bring out compassion, and yet the novel is still sexy. A++

feels like a comfort blanket
it’s warm, cozy, and familiar.. yes, both main characters have problems but the way it was described is subtle.. nothing is overdone.. soft..
I’m not sold on the narrator though.. sometimes too slow, sometimes to fast.. and the tone is rather flat.. I found that I prefer the ebook than the audio.

Lovely, unique romance
What I think I liked best about this novel were the snippets of real wisdom, life wisdom from which we can all benefit, interspersed throughout. Which makes it quite unique.

Good story bad narration
Great story as always from Mary Balogh, but this is the first time I’ve heard this narrator. I could handle the female voices but the male voices grated on my ears so bad I stopped the book twice.

So Very Good
What made the experience of listening to The Proposal the most enjoyable?
The story flows and the "villians" find no footholds.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Proposal?
I hate book reviews that give away the good stuff. My review is meant only to encourage new listerners to spend a credit for a good book.
Which character – as performed by Rebecca De Leeuw – was your favorite?
I liked Constance. She could have been a brat but wasn't.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When a person "let's go" of an old hurt I feel it too. There are several in this book.
Any additional comments?
I read Mary Balogh many years ago and thought I didn't like her writing. I have listened to all but one of her audible books and enjoyed everyone and look forward to future series additions. I would listen to the last one but have a hard time spending a credit for a 4 hour book. My fault not Ms. Balogh's.
