Keeps on getting better and better

I love this story even more than I loved the other two books. i am seriously getting addicted to this series.

Speechless!

Wow! I cant make up my mind which one is better in the series now. The highlanders touch is especial though because in here, he not only worried about her, but he also did for her family. His love for her was so deep! I just loved it! And its prob one of those books that I will listen to again eventually. Just like BDB :)

Live this Story

I’ve read this book several times. I love Karen Moning’s work. The audible book is a nice addition to my library. The biggest complaint I have is a man using a falsetto voice to sound like a woman. It was distracting enough that I cringed quite often throughout the story.

I'm so addicted to this series "Highlander" that I probably will listen to them all again!! Love the narrator and his great sounding voice!!

I am a reader and a Librarian--Personally I find all of Karen Marie Monings books an escape that I look forward to reading. I fly through each book only wishing it wouldn't end. Her books have a balance of plot, character development, adventure, action, and sex to keep you interested and wanting more. Excellent!

They just keep getting better

Karen Marie Moning's 'Highlander' series just keeps getting better with each subsequent book. The first 2 were somewhat mediocre, but this one really ramped it up. She's definitely hitting her stride with these later books and I found myself just as in love with Cin as Lisa. Phil Gigante also delivers once again with his narration, though I could admittedly do without his somewhat comical female voices. I can't wait to see what this series has in store next!

Highlander .... yummy!

Take some time travel .... add some highland romance with some fae magic and let Karen Marie Moning turn it all into a thrilling novel that will entertain you every time you read or listen to it. I think this was my 4th listen. This series was my intro to Scottish Historical Romance novels. It was also to blame for my long standing addiction to the genre'. Yet I have never found anything like it even though it is the ruler by which I measure them all.
This specific book is as unique unto itself as are all the others and at the same time they all play off of a similar theme. The genius who wrote these is Carefully crafting the endgame which begins its tale in her next series. (fae fever) Each of the Highlander books stand alone and any one of the Highlander books is a story in itself. Yet the theme does take you somewhere if you choose to follow it. I unfortunately read the "fae fever" series first and then went back to read these. I recommend them IN ORDER. But that's not actually nessesary.

NARRATOR: Phil Gigante is excellent. Some of the female voices come off Masculine from time to time but it doesn't hurt anything. His warm sexy tones and romantic Scottish brogue made listening to him a pleasure. His performance is masterful!

CREDITWORTHY? Without a doubt yes! l'd pay for each listen if I had to.

This is a well loved series I have personally read many times. I really enjoyed listening to Mr. Gigante's performance of the men in the book. However his reading of the females parts leaves a lot to be desired to the point it was distracting. Almost sounding like he was putting on a really fake female voice deliberately Monty Pythonesk. I'm sure that's not the case it just always bothered me through out the book. I also got the feeling he didn't read the story of Adam Black or he would not have made him sound quite so effeminate. I'm hoping as I get the rest of the series he will either get better or not be the narrator , I haven't looked yet.
If you can get past the female part of the listen it is a great book they just keep getting better as the stories move along.

I read the book many years ago! I loved it then and still love it now! I definitely recommend. Once you get use to the heroines voice your golden! A great story!

What did you like best about this story?

I have a couple of the series, I would have to listen to them in order to have a better understanding of the plot. However, I think the way someone from the future could actually be teleported to another century in the past; it's intriguing...
