Publisher's summary

Highland laird Conor McTiernay had always dreamed of an enduring love. But the reality of women who desired him only for his title and lands made him swear off marriage forever. That is until he first set eyes on the Englishwoman his men found hiding in the forest. Beneath the dirt and grime it was clear Laurel Cordell was beautiful. But would she prove to be yet another beguiling seductress?

Laurel trusted that the Scottish chieftain would keep her safe from the cruel laird from whom she had escaped. Looking deep into Conor's silver eyes she saw not only his calculating warrior ways but his quick arousal to passion. But before they can explore the growing desire between them, their newfound love is threatened by secrets from her past....

Good story but not a great narrator

I Loved the story, but definitely would have enjoyed it more with a different narrator. All her V's were pronounced as B's. so instead of saying Loved she'd say Lobed

Yikes.

I couldn’t stand the narrator. I had to speed up her voice. It was the only way to get it close to a normal cadence.
It was distracting.

the book was ok but could have been better

The book was good but probly could have been great with another reading it. The woman wS so slow and monotone it almost made me want to quit listening.

Can I please give more than 5 star's?

I think this maybe at least my 3rd listen to this book and I loved it as much as I did the 1st time. Michele Sinclair writes a wonderful tale. This is a great love story Complete with all the highland book trimmings.
From big sexy kilted highlanders to villains and Claymores this is a gem in the world of Scottish Historical Romance novels.

NARRATOR: Anne Flosnik Is one of those narrators that most people either love or hate. Her way of almost whispering is most aggravating yet easy to forget about. There are very few Scottish themed historical romances that I've found she narrates. I think I almost prefer her in this genre rather than regency or victorian.
You should listen to the snippets (samples) of her work, perhaps from several differant titles, before deciding. I have many with her as narrator and occasionally I just don't feel like listening to her right then, but thats all, I'll listen to it another day..

CREDITWORTHY? Definitely YES.

HEAT FACTOR: A soft warm fuzzy sizzle.

Too fast and generic

This is a typical highlander romance sorry but narrated too fast. It also doesn't have much character development. It felt rushed and generic.

There's a pattern here...

I liked the characters, but they were both so strong-willed that they butted heads all the time. Lots of fighting and making up. Laurel was very capable and confident, but not invincible. Conor was so protective (and possessive) that, at the surface, seemed like he was being controlling. I'm glad Laurel had a friend like Eileen to be the voice of reason and get to the motivation behind his commands.

The narrator was okay, but the male voices sounded a bit forced. Her Scottish accents were good.

Best

This is the best Highlander book I’ve listened to since the Outlander series. I really enjoyed it.

THE HIGHLANDER'S BRIDE

I HAD A HARD TIME GETTING THROUGH IT. IT SEEMED TO JUST DRAG ON . I DIDN'T REALLY CARE FOR THE NARRATOR.

Beautiful book

I found a new favorite author! Two stubborn people find compromise and love! Very enjoyable! Flosnik did a nice narration.
