Publisher's summary

Lady Eleanor Ramsay is the only one who knows the truth about Hart Mackenzie. Once his fiancée, she is the sole woman to whom he could ever pour out his heart. Hart has it all - a dukedom, wealth, power, influence, whatever he desires. Every woman wants him - his seductive skills are legendary. But Hart has sacrificed much to keep his brothers safe, first from their brutal father, and then from the world. He's also suffered loss: his wife, his infant son, and the woman he loved with all his heart, though he realized it too late.

Now Eleanor has reappeared on Hart's doorstep, with scandalous nude photographs of Hart taken long ago. Intrigued by the challenge in her blue eyes - and aroused by her charming, no-nonsense determination - Hart wonders if his young love has come to ruin him ... or save him.

Favorite of The Series.. so far

Everything about this series is perfection. I simply cannot get enough, and enjoy every minute listening. They are all beautifully woven stories that don’t make you crazy with angst with the right amount of intimacy for my taste. This one has to be my favorite thus far and I look forward to the next.

The Duke's Perfect

Would you listen to The Duke's Perfect Wife again? Why?

I have read this whole series more than one, so I am pretty confident I will listen again. This series has a beautiful balance of characterization, story line, mystery and romance, which is hard to find in most books. The MacKenzie brother's have damaged souls but, have found away of surviving their horrific upbringing to become much better men ( with the help of their wives, of course)

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Duke's Perfect Wife?

2 come to mind, without giving much away. The first one was Elle, taking pictures of Hart, and Hart being almost shy about it. Second, when Elle finds Hart in the MacKenzie mausoleum.

Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?

Really love Cameron and Daniel, they are hilarious

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The Duke's (not so) Perfect Life

Any additional comments?

I thought it the end of the series, but it looks like there might be a book for Daniel.. Can't wait.

Cunning yet predictable

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not a thing, I buy a book from this series whenever I need a mental break from a difficult or depressing read. It's uplifting and enjoyable.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I wouldn't have changed anything. This is all about one big, happy family.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Angela is quite limited but her voice is very soothing. It's not uncommon for her to get the male and female character mixed up and her accents are terrible.

Do you think The Duke's Perfect Wife needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No...all of the brothers are married now, lol.

Any additional comments?

Don't expect anything spectacular but you will be content.

Loved this series.............

Loved this series and this book was no different. However, it did get a little long in some places and the passion scenes were not as intense as the others books, but concluded the family well.

A hard man to love

The third book in the series is just as good as the other two. No let down here! Ainsley was a great character and I really really like Cameron.

We get to learn more about Daniel in this book. He plays a large roll and I absolutely love him. I can't wait to hear his story. His interaction with his father and Ainsley is absolutely hilarious in the beginning.

We also get a teaser of Hart and Miss Ramsay's story.

Again the best part of this book is getting to see the whole family.

I didn't enjoy the Queen in this book. I felt like her part in the story was almost forced in a way but I really don't know how to explain it..... I just didn't like her. I guess it is just the need for conflict.

Cameron's past is definitely dark and he has a lot to overcome but Ainsley is perfect for him.

I laughed (Thanks to Daniel and Mac), felt sorrow, was outraged, warmed with love..... it's a great story and totally worth the credit.

AMAZING MACKENZIES

What made the experience of listening to The Duke's Perfect Wife the most enjoyable?

Got to know and love the characters in the first book "The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie". Even though this fourth book in the series did not disappoint and was almost as good as the others, Ian MacKenzie remains my favorite character.

What did you like best about this story?

The Eleanor Ramsey was not a push-over even though still in love with the Duke.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I have listened to the previous three installments of this series and I think she does a fairly good job. I like it when a female narrator can do gruff, sexy male voices. Ms. Dawe is pretty good in this arena.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were times I laughed. No crying, but did get anxious a couple of times during the story.

A bit drawn out

Some of the narrator’s voices are irritating (Eleanor’s for example) and I never really bought into the whole story. Why did he want to marry her in the first place?

Perfect ending...

This book is just as good as the previous ones. The ending was very good and complete as it gives you a glimpse of how each brother and their families are doing. Hart was completely redeemed in this book. He changed a lot from how he was portrayed throughout the series. Eleanor was his perfect match in every sense. The bit of BDSM between Hart and Eleanor towards the end of the book was kind of weird but I guess it was appropriate to explain his "dark" side. It's nothing too descriptive though.

Narration: well by now Ms. Angela Dawe has improved her Scottish accent a bit and her narration has only gotten better. I highly recommend this book and I'm sad the series has ended.

love it, so sad to reach the end of this series!

Loved all four books in this series, but the first and last ones were my favorites. You definitely should listen to all of them. Yes, you can get the basics of the other brothers if you just listen to this book. But then you miss out on all the personality nuances and interactions in the family. Would give this series 10 stars if I could. By this book the characters feel like family, and just the way they act, especially Ian from the first book, made me laugh out loud. Will definitely look for more from this author.

OK, But a Disappointing End to A Promising Series

"The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie" may have been one of the best historical romances I have ever read. Everything was spot on. The plot, characters and narrator were all great.
The next two books in the series were disappointing - just OK. I was really hoping the last book in the series would redeem the series overall. It was definitely better than the 2nd and 3rd books, but nothing like the first.

It did a good job of tying up loose ends. But it was at it's best when Lord Ian and his wife put in an appearance. And they didn't appear enough.

I am glad this series is over. I don't have to hold out for redemption. I will just remember Lord Ian fondly and hope the author has another character up her sleeve as wonderful as him in her next book.
