Sophie Scaife almost ran away once, trading her ticket to college for a ticket to Tokyo. But a delayed flight and a hot one-night stand with a stranger changed her mind, putting her firmly on track to a coveted position at a New York fashion magazine.
When the irresistible stranger from that one incredible night turns out to be her new boss - billionaire and publishing magnate Neil Elwood - Sophie can't resist the chance to rekindle the spark between them...and the opportunity to explore her submissive side with the most dominant man she's ever known.
Neil is the only man who has ever understood Sophie's need to submit in the bedroom and the only man who has ever satisfied those desires. When their scorching, no-strings-attached sexual relationship becomes something more, Sophie must choose between her career and heart...or risk losing them both.

This was a great story though the British accent kind of threw me off at first. After I got used to it, I was able to enjoy the book. I was not warned so I would like to warn you that there's a cliffhanger!! and the second book is not out on audible yet! other than that really great story and amazing sex scenes!
Love this book and will be getting the next one asap😂 ,can't wait to see where they go from here,... Great story and hot steamy sex, what's not to love. Definitely worth the price!!!
Classics, Biography's, Romance, Erotica. I'm a sucker for a good book!
C.J. Bloom brings this story to life! What a great narrator of a great book! 😍😍😍😍
The narrating was awful!!!! the first book started out good. I finished it. I was looking forward to the second book. The second book was such a disappointment. I didn't even finish. The author over did it with the story line.
I felt like I was just reliving each chapter.
Characters were not built much at all. There really was NO story. The entire book is around mediocre sex. Even the sex scenes were not that original. The narration was also not good. The hero's voice sounded like an old woman with the worst British accent you have ever heard. I am VERY disappointed. It was painful to listen to it, so I decided to stop with five hours left and move on to something better. I recommend you steer completely off this book.
Enjoyed listening to this book. Spoiler alert--ending is a cliff hanger and as of this review the follow-on book is not available which I find annoying. Nevertheless I'm anxious to see how Sophie works out her problem.
Both the plot and the characterizations were well thought out and drawn, so that I could forget I was listening to a book and imagine I was hearing about real people
Sophie, of course. She was at times dingy, but at other times had a deep emotional maturity that I've found rare even among those older than 50.
I can't pick just one, thought the wedding night D/s session was particularly hot.
Yes, when Sophie's family met Niel; I had a similar experience introducing my bride to my family, though for different reasons. She was from another culture. The reaction, though, was eerily similar.
This story was far more than I expected, and I bought all the books when I was only half-way through the first. I knew then I would just have to finish it and find out the ending.
