Publisher's summary

After three romantic flame-outs in a year and a restaurant career going nowhere, Dani Buchanan needs a fresh start. She goes looking for her biological father, but never expects to find a senator running for president. As his long-lost "love child", Dani could seriously derail the election - something his handsome campaign manager, Alex Canfield, isn't going to let happen.

Dani isn't about to let Alex run her life, no matter how tempting she finds him. And Alex isn't going to allow Dani to melt his cynicism, no matter how close he has to get. The last thing either of them wants is love, especially with scandals brewing and family trouble on the way. But Dani and Alex are forced to trust each other, and when trust turns to passion, the potential for disaster is only a tabloid scandal away.

WATCH OUT FOR DRAGONS!

Where does Tempting rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would have to say in the top half of the audio books due to the way content was handled.

What did you like best about this story?

The waly the story showed both sides of the political arena and family life, with someone trying to maintain an ordinary life while finding something they didn't know they were searching for in the first place. Eureka, the discovery!!

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

Alex with his loyalty and integrity.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

My First Susan Mallery

Would you try another book from Susan Mallery and/or Therese Plummer?

Not sure if I will try another one or not. Somewhat interesting, but predictable and just a bit disappointed with the unrealistic ending.

Bailey was my favorite character, Then maybe Alex.

What three words best describe Therese Plummer’s performance?

Some of the voices she did were good, but the "Dani" voice was pretty high pitch and whining, it really grated on my nerves as time went on.

Any additional comments?

The ending seemed rushed to me, with all the build up on a life with a political candidate and then "poof", the ending.

Good Finish

I wasn't really sure what dramatic obstacles the author could incorporate into Dani Buchanan's story. There were several very real plausible ones that emerged. I like the way things turned out for her and Alex. I would have liked the story more if Mark had been given a little more compassion and depth.

I can’t tell if the narrator made the book worse

The book was okay... formulaic story and a little too saccharine for me but also the narrator’s voice when speaking as Dani was cloying and saccharine so it could be that I’m reading too much into that.
Over all just okay, nothing fantastic and nothing terrible.

A little whiny

I really liked the rest of this series but I found this character a little self-absorbed and whiny. I wanted to quit the story half way though except I liked the other characters too much.

Nice ending to a great series

Although this wasn't my favorite book, it was sill a nice ending to a really great series of stories by Susan Mallery. I loved some of the supporting characters, and it was a nice way to round out the series. If you can, I recommend starting with the first book of the series, Delicious.

It also would have been better had they contracted Therese Plummer (she narrated Delicious) to narrate all of the stories because this narrator wasn't very good. But, all in all, it's worth listening to.

Didn't like the narrator

The story was good with a surprise for the last of the Buchanan siblings. This narrator read the first book as well as this one. She was able to make one of the siblings "Reed" sound like a total jerk even through we all know through reading these books that he is not. Unfortunately this was probably my least favorite of the four books in this series.Even through the narrator was not my favorite, I had to know how the story ended.

Another great story in series about Buchanans

Even though it is another Buchanan story, it is actually about Dannie and her non-Buchannan heritage. Some story twists are a bit far fetched, but it is fun touching fiction afterall. Author strives to promote great values
