Cute and fun

I enjoyed reading this book, language a but unnecessary but good overall. Great love scenes

Classic Shalvis. Narration was OK.

I’ve read or listen to most of Shalvis current books and been meaning visit her backlist. Lucky Harbor series is a long one, but I’ve been told that it’s set up in threes. I figured I could tack it in behind other series by reading three at a time. My library has all the books, some in ebook and others in audio, but then I saw a few of the titles offered through the new Audible Romance program.

I also decided to try the title on audio because I’ve never listened to Celeste Ciulla narration work. She reminded me of one of favorite narrators, Marguerite Gavin. For the most part I enjoyed the narration, but there was a lot of “dead air”. By that I mean there was long pauses between sentences and not for drama effect. I’m not sure if it was the narrator’s choice or a production thing.

In any case, I grabbed Simply Irresistible knowing I would be entertained because Shalvis has never failed me before. The same voice is there. The small town, sweet (and sometimes hot) romance is there. The likable characters are there too.

If you’re looking for a romance with heart and a touch of the holiday spirit pick up a copy of Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis.

Very cute story

This was a nice change of pace for me to listen to. The love story is interesting and the characters for the most part are likeable. Te sexy scenes aren't to shabby either. ; ) Definitely worth reading.

Ok story but narration is off

I really like Jill Shalvis’ books. But this one was had more sex than I felt necessary- and the narration just seemed a little off.
The broad story line was good- I liked the characters- they were developed adequately- but compared to other books by this author- I felt this one wasn’t as good.

Good story but narration almost spoils it.

Not a fan of the narration. I've listened to a few books with narrators that I didn't enjoy but this is the first time that it impacted by enjoyment of the story. I kept trying to imagine the words not spoken by the narrator. Probably a much better book to read.

A good start

I mostly enjoyed this small-town romance with its themes of self-discovery, sisterhood, and community.

It's light and fluffy and the narration is competent. I have to deduct a star for the too-perfect versatile Henley-wearing hero who is everywhere and for the caricature of a Southern belle Tara.

Easy, Cheesy Listening

What did you like best about Simply Irresistible? What did you like least?

It's a good listen if you're looking for something not too complex. Simple but enjoyable.

What about Celeste Ciulla’s performance did you like?

I love the southern drawl she uses for one of the sisters.

I love this book

I loved this story and this series I had previously read it and the audio was enjoyable . The reader was not my favorite but the story and characters more than make up for it.
