One Hot Vampire Hero

Now this was a book worth the wait, Kresley Cole usually gets it right and did a wonderful job with this character. Trehan is now my second favorite vampire (Lothaire still rules) but lets keep in mind him and Lothaire are cousins. Trehan is a complex, thinking vampire with a lot on his plate and a bride to court and win. Good action in this book and a host of funny characters. Wished there was a part 2 to just this story. And our narrator Robert Petkoff is just mandatory to carry on this new series.

the struggle was real

I loved the story it was beautiful but I struggled with Bettina for a while at first I felt she can't be that stupid then I'm like ok maybe shes coming around a male comes into her life treats her better than any other male has including the grandfather, shows her how he treats his queen, was nothing but patient then enters a life or death battle for her affections it was like yea she's that stupid. all the titles from kresley cole ive read the lady of the book was vicious and strong out going very passionate about there men. and why didn't Cass tell her about his adventures with mercio. even towards the end it was "no cass dont go" after she clearly knew and understood her feelings for daciano. regin Lucia Sabine even Emmeline Elizabeth and melanthe they were fierce the only time Bettina showed anything like that was when she used her own power on her male.. never disappointed with kresley cole by far one of my all time favorite authors just wish Bettina was portrayed differently. as for the narration i laughed i was there in the audience i was in there bed i felt the story. ROBERT PETKOFF AND MAX BELLMORE ARE THE VOICES OF THE LORE....THERE CAN BE NONE OTHER PERIOD.

Let the games begin.

I recommend reading this book after Lothaire but before Macrieve. Yes it is an spin off of IAD series but really it is a continuation of the series, just with different characters and location. Which to be truthful that is how all the books are in this series. For me Shadow's Claim was another wonderful addition to the series and Kresley Cole cannot write fast enough to satisfy me. This wasn't my favorite book from KC, but I still gobbled it up. My only complaint was that Bettina drove me crazy with her obsession of her childhood friend. Who in my opinion wasn't that great of a friend. Of course she is still only 22, so that could be partly to blame for her terrible taste at first. Luckily like me she couldn't resist a sexy vamp who would do anything for her. Robert Petkoff was drool worthy as usual.

Awesome!

If you could sum up Shadow's Claim in three words, what would they be?

This is full of gladiator action, great romance and a wonderful story line! I could not put my iPod turn off! Narrator did a fantastic job.

I love Daciano

One of my favorite stories, Bet is stronger than she knows and he is more vulnerable than he wants to be but together they are FIRE!!! You will love this couple, even through the hard moments because it's a story of learning that Love has many faces and sometimes they can be confused. Sometimes you just love someone you are not In love with them. I love Cas and I could complain about his actions sometimes, but he is young. I cant wait to hear his story, kind of hoping he will be matched with Daciano's niece. LOVE all the supporting cast and specially Nix who doesnt love this meddlesome Val... cause I do

Great story if you can get past the voice

Would you consider the audio edition of Shadow's Claim to be better than the print version?

I have read all of Kresley Cole's other novels by paperback. I can honestly say that I liked them better. The story was good but it took me a bit to remember what happen in her previous book Lothaire. I wish that some of the other characters that were so dynamic and funny from other books would have made an appearance. I know this is a different series but Nix is so funny but said nothing in this book. Overall I liked this story and look forward to more to come. Information was easy enough to follow but I am glad that I read all of her other books so that I had a better idea of some of the character's roles (demon, horde, Valkyrie, Nix etc). That is the one thing about audio books, you cannot go back to the front easily to reference definitions.

What other book might you compare Shadow's Claim to and why?

I would compare this book to Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love Belador Series. This is also a series about other worlds and deceptions. As well has Sherrilyn Kenyon's League Series.

What aspect of Robert Petkoff’s performance would you have changed?

Where to begin..... I don't know if it was me or if others feel the same way, but the narrator's version of Bettina's voice drove me crazy. She sounded like the character off of The Family Guy when Stewie pretends to be a girl. I think I like the fact that when I read the books I can make the characters less whimpering. Also his narration of Trehan also seemed like the guy was in pain every time he spoke. His voice did not change even if it was a tender moment or a battle scene.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Shadow Claim.... He comes undone. I am not very creative to I don't really know.

Any additional comments?

In the end I don't know if I will listen to the audiobook or read the paper book. I guess it depends upon the narrator.
