Can a pirate learn that the only true treasure lies in a woman's heart?

Widowed Silence Hollingbrook is impoverished, lovely, and kind - and nine months ago she made a horrible mistake. She went to a river pirate for help in saving her husband, and in the process, made a bargain that cost her her marriage. That night wounded her so terribly that she hides in the foundling home she helps run with her brother. Except now that same river pirate is back... and he's asking for her help.

"Charming" Mickey O'Connor is the most ruthless river pirate in London. Devastatingly handsome and fearsomely intelligent, he clawed his way up through London's criminal underworld. Mickey has no use for tender emotions like compassion and love, and he sees people as pawns to be manipulated. And yet he's never been able to forget the naive captain's wife who came to him for help and spent one memorable night in his bed...talking.

When his bastard baby girl was dumped in his lap - her mother having died - Mickey couldn't resist the Machiavellian urge to leave the baby on Silence's doorstep. The baby would be hidden from his enemies, and he'd also bind Silence to him by her love for his daughter.

Duke of Sin better than this

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this romance, but after waiting hours and hours of listening before they FINALLY get frisky I found myself disappointed. Duke of Sin had more lustful magic, although this is a touching story. I wish the pirate made a move sooner. He was more of a tragic character than a brooding badass pirate. I wanted more victory for him in his present after such a terrible past. Set that tiresome baby aside and focus on your lover!

Bad boy comes to grips with love

Different story with a good ending. The pirate shows his good side and his "bad" side.

Great series.

I have been enjoying each of the books in this series. There is love and suspense, including some very unexpected outcomes.

All the feels!

I love this one. Silence, Harry, Bert, and of course Michael. As my title suggests this book, gives you all the feels. The romance is hot and sweet. The villain is scary, and the antihero charming. Mickey is perfection. This book is the perfect addition to the Maiden Lane series.

Best In the Series - So Far

I have listened to this twice and just loved this one. The gorgeous, damaged man; the innocent, sweet, and beautiful woman; a villain of demonic proportions; the corrupt officials, and the mysterious Ghost of St. Giles! Oh my.

This story is very exciting. Not a mystery but a love story with tension and action that – no matter how many times I listen to it – is very exciting.

Well worth a credit and at least a second listen.

What a great read

This the perfect mix of regency romance and pathos. I would consider it a study in character development for aspiring writers.

Micky the hero had reached the pinnacle of success in regency England for a river pirate, yet he is enthralled by Silence's, the heroines belief that her marriage is built on the foundation of true love.

The issues that Silence face are really typical in that relationships where honest communication is lacking, it hinders the ability of the relationship to develop beyond the tadpole stage hence, there can be no real love.

Now this is the beautiful part; both characters have a desire to be honest and a need to be seen and hear for who and what they are and as the reader we get to see it unfold.

Anyway happy reading. Let me know what you think regardless of whether or not you agree.

This book has it all!

This series is amazing but number 3 was the best of the lot (so far). I listened to this book non stop, just could not tear myself away. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love.
