Short, Sweet With A Surprise

This is an enjoyable book, short and sweet with a surprise at the end. How fitting.

Okay story. Good narration.

This story was okay. I liked the first half much better than the second half. Hippolyta was great. She was funny and sassy. I liked Mortimer too, he was a good hero. They had some good chemistry together and there was some hot and steamy sex in this book too.

The story line and plot started out good, then half way through fizzled out for me. I thought it was kind of dull to be honest. The whole indian thing, was just blah. There was lots of dialogue throughout the entire book that was great.

As for the narration, I thought it was great. I really like Ashford McNab's narrations. The men sound like men, she has a nice reading voice albeit a bit monotone but it seems to work for her quite well.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series. The Ghost of St. Giles will be back.

Scintillating tale

Storyline was creative and immersive. Narration was perfect for portraying the personalization of the characters.

An okay read

This was an okay read, I liked both characters and the story, but something fell flat for me. Maybe it was the lack of action. The book just needed a little more something.

Excellent fun!

What a fun ride this one was! It was serious, humorous, mysterious and very romantic. And did I mention SEXY! Oooo La La!
I prefer Regency era, but this was very good and had only a few references that gave it evidence.

Cute but crude

Two things about this story:
First, the story was classic "damsel in distress" and could have been cute but the author just had to wander into crude territory. The story is not enhanced by the occasional four letter word and in most instances it diminishes the story not the least of which it doesn't really belong in a Regency era story.

Second, the narrator does a good job of voicing the story and different part but she speaks so slowly that the story is much better told at 1.25X than the normal pace. There were times when the dragging on of the sentences was painful.

Otherwise, a cute story for quick read if you can ignore the crudeness.

Hypolita Royal and Mathew's story was just simply charming and full of surprises. And very hot scenes.

well written, fast paced with just enough fire .... and laughter, well done, well done!

Money Well Spent

This novella was a treat beginning to end. Such a fun read and money well spent. It would have madd an excellent full length story, but entertaining nonetheless.

Narrator: Ashford McNab performs excellent as usual. Her ability to engage an audience is always a plus with Elizabeth Hoyt’s style of writing.
