Publisher's summary

In this next searing tale of the Immortals After Dark series, number-one New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole delves deeper into the mysterious Clan MacRieve, a family tormented by ancient agonies and forbidden wolven hungers.

Uilleam MacRieve, a centuries-old Lykae warrior, was captured, caged, and experimented on by a shadowy human order, along with other immortals. During a prison break that devolved into one of the bloodiest massacres in recent history, he escapes. But the aftermath of his unspeakable torture preys on his damaged mind, while the wolf inside him roars for vengeance and carnage. In the days leading up to the full moon, can MacRieve rein in his beast, even when he encounters his mate - a vexingly impossible female unlike anything he'd ever dreamed for himself?

One of my favorites.

I have to say that Kresley Cole is one of my favorite authors. She has a way of writing and world building that is fantastic. Every book draws you in and once you start listening it is hard to stop until the book is finished. I have truly loved every book in the series but this book is definitely one of my favorites. Macrieve feels like he doesn't deserve love because of this past (an incident that happened as a child) but when he finds is mate he can't believe his is basically given a second chance but fate has also given his a surprise that put his mate in danger from Macrieve himself. Great book. Read the whole series!!!

Lykae claiming at work.

This book was great. I love the characters, I especially liked Munroe's foster kids. I'm all about books that have strong heroines and alpha hunks. I liked how you always knew that Macrieve was a good guy, and you knew all along that there was going to be a hiccup somewhere since the beginning of their relationship was way to perfect. The trick was to figure out how to get back to normal. There was humorous parts that had me grinning from ear to ear, and some very disturbing parts that made me want to claw out the bad guys eyes. This series is up there as one of my favorites. Kresley Cole is an automatic download for me now. I will be listening to her other series soon. There is a preview of her book Poison Princess at the end of this book.

MACRIEVE!!!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Macrieve to be better than the print version?

YES!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Macrieve?

Haha...there is a scene where Chloe has been intimate with Macrieve for the first time and he says she has blown his mind as well as his d***. I literally busted out laughing!

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

Petkoff cant be beat. He is literally the best with male voices and accents. I am obsessed. He is amazing! I can't get enough of his narrations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have extreme reactions to this book. I laughed and cried. I loved Chloe's character and I hated when Macrieve was mean to her.

Any additional comments?

This is right up there with Lothaire, for me. I love love love a Scottish accent! I bought this book in print and enjoyed it very much. However, the audio really brought the story to life. I want to know these people.

Excellent!!! Don't Miss This or the IAD Series!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I highly recommend this book. It takes you on an emotional ride with many twists and turns.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Macrieve?

There are so many, I can't (and won't due to avoiding spoilers) choose just one.

Which scene was your favorite?

I have to give the same message as before. There are so many, I can't (and won't due to avoiding spoilers) choose just one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh and cry with a myriad of emotions in between. The author has written a storyline that brings your emotions into the story .... you have to react ... you are so drawn into their lives.

Any additional comments?

The narrator performs an amazing read and you won't be able to put this down once you start it!

great save

Where does Macrieve rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

definitely in the top 10%.

What other book might you compare Macrieve to and why?

previous book, "lothaire" which I think of as walking knee deep in wet cement. it was that painful to listen too.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

everything except when he whispers.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

this book had so many moving moments its hard to choose. IT DEALS WITH ISSUES OF CHILD ABUSE. so this book could trigger some peoples issues. that said its very well written, and handles the issue in a sensitive way. it started slow but 1/3 of the way in it really picked up . some very explicit language. very glad I listened to it.

Good Good Good!

Cant help but feel sorry for Mcrieve & all that he had gone through. But his story has me very much anticipating his twins story (William).

Additive - suspense and hotness wrapped perfectly

Any additional comments?

Additive - suspense and hotness wrapped perfectly in a yummy package with this story. I love how Kresley Cole portrays her main lead men. Uilleam MacRieve is a tormented hot devil that will appeal to all who love her books. This is my favourite from this series so far and just had to listened to it immediately once released. Most enjoyable and very satisfying. :)

I am a Macrieve FanGirl!

What an excellent story! Macrieve is yet another example of Kresely Cole's genius in this genre of romance novels. As usual, with the excellent narration and riveting storylines, the characters come to life so vividly you can't help but become thoroughly vested. I have grown to love every one of the characters she's brought to the forefront, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Honestly I don't ever want this series to end. I highly recommend this book, and the series as a whole.
